Its was all fine well hurling abuse at Keely and Deering. It was funny at the start but after a while it got boring and I have to say some of the stuff that was said was a disgrace and refelcts bad on the rest of the supporters and the team.
Supporters are there to support the team not spend the entire 90 minutes hurling abuse at the opposition and refs.

[QUOTE=Da Real Rover]We werent at a ballet class and this isnt cricket. I heard what they were saying, so what, they were the only people that could of given a bollax and actually sang and of course hurled abuse at Keely and Deering. (You got to agree that some of the stuff they were saying was funny) and (if you think they were so offensive have a look at what the rest of the irish fans do be chanting, its on a thread in the eircom league forum. That will make them look like alter boys).

I don;t believe being lead by the nose just because so called other clubs are doing it, your right 'da real rover', some of it at the start was funny, however it just went from the ridiculous to the obscene after that. Would these people not be better off putting all there energies into supporting the rovers fully on the pitch.

Fans are ment to be passionate about there club. Now when the ref or the 4th official or whoever screw the team over, fans who care get annoyed. Now i know when most people get p1ssed they usually curse and use 'offensive' language. There use of it just shows how they care about what happens on the pitch. If anything we need more fans who care passionately about our club, not less. And also they were putting there energies into supporting the team, who do you think started every chant in the ground, it was them.

Your first point, when the referee make a bad decision, off course fan react and rightly so, (not disputing that at all) - only a natural response. And berating the referee, not disputing that either, (when they make a wrong decision - which incidentally is a good few times in the sgrounds). However, if your saying that shouting abuse onto the pitch and launching a ridiculous attack on everything in the showgrounds is being passionate about the club, then fire away, but just think about it for a second. How is that helping the team? These so call fans launch the same tirade of abuse as vigorously, if 1) the ref make a balls of thinks, 2) the manager happens to be someone they recognise or a former bit of red mgr 3) if a rovers player makes a mistake.

I ask again how is that helping the team.? And for starting every chant, what chanting, is was mind numbing and ridiculous, and in fairness I was seriously embarrassed to be anyway associated with it because I was sitting beside them.

Also, am I not a passionate supporter, just because I don't act like this?
