Cunningham will be retiring after WC 2006. O'Brien is having a mare of a season at Newcastle. Dunne is not our regular centre-half but will be if he keeps up his form (out injured at the moment). Breen is also on the wrong side of 30 and is at best an average centre-half. O'Shea and Doherty - neither is a regular centre-half in their club sides. I am sure he has played for England at u-21 level and he would have to change sides before 31st Dec 2004. So would have Nolan, Gallen and the others.

Dont really rate him as a top class center back and in terms of the future I'd have Dunne, O'Brien, O'Shea and even the Doc in ahead of him. I've a feeling our real weakness in a few years will be central midfield.

Probably not, due to the CL final... I meant in the English squad in general, all those players are ahead of Knight, so i doubt he'll ever get a cap in a proper competitive game.
