Makes bench again today, keeping the momentum up after long term deal. Let’s hope for his debut
Can't find a thread for the U21 midfielder, even though he's made his debut for Bournemouth.
Just signed a new long term contact at Dean Court: https://www.afcb.co.uk/news/first-te...term-contract/

Is today the day for his premiership debut? On bench again today vs Burnley at home
Made his long-awaited league debut today, coming on for some garbage minutes in a 4-0 win over Barnsley: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/5...7#tab-Line-ups
Yeah I watched the second half hoping he’d come on, torrential downpour throughout. They’ve a lad Riquelme on loan from athletico, he came on today, and had scored recently. Looks really good in attacking midfielder role. Putting Kilkenny even further down the pecking order. Really deflating to see Kilkenny come on in injury time when they’re 4-0 up and could make 5 substitutions. Doubt if Kilkenny will see much action unless a spate of injuries. A Jan move loan required if nothing much happens between now and Jan. Ditto for travers, he can’t settle for just cup action again, can he?
If the club are paying you decent wages and no one else is prepared to meet them or better them then what do you do ? And perhaps the Club does not want them going out on loan for whatever reason. I imagine if a club wants you going out on loan then it certainly could happen.
Kilkenny was so good in preseason last year that I was hoping he'd break into the team when they were in Premiership. The fact that he still cant get in while in Championship is very disappointing.
He's one of many Irish players that badly needs a loan move in January.
5-0 win today for Bournemouth, 5 substitutions made; Travers or Kilkenny not one of them. Great to see Bournemouth do so well but disappointing to see no game time for our guys; hopefully these guys will start see some game time (anywhere) in the new year
Sounds like Kilkenny had a good first half there and was involved in the Bournemouth goal. Seems like the kind of player that would suit the way Bournemouth play, surprised he hasn't featured more for them. Should be a good number 10 option for the under 21s in the next campaign, probably competing with Smallbone for the spot.
Decided to watch Kilkenny today playing for Bournemouth, surprised to see him start as a defensive midfielder, as I saw him play attacking right mid for under 21s sometime ago, played very well, good turn of pace, could be a surprise inclusion in one of the next few squads.
Would be great if he could force his way into their first team and get a run of games.
I didn’t watch Kilkenny today. But judging by several posters on their main fans forum, he played ok after a shaky first half. And is clearly in dire need of a loan, as he will be highly unlikely to break into current side. The “played very well” is likely through green tinted glasses. I’ve seen him play a few times, and wouldn’t be getting carried away just yet especially as he’s never really played senior football. Hopefully he will get a loan over the coming weeks.

Just watched the highlights and he was involved in the build-up for two of the goals - two neat forward passes that initiated the moves
Great to see a promising start to the season for Kilkenny, especially with us baying for creativity in midfield. Could learn a lot under Parker and be an early nice surprise. Initial comments against top opposition is very encouraging:

He played very well and it was great to see him finally get a chance. He is quite small though and you'd really want a physical enforcer alongside him if playing him in a deeper position longer term. Definitely one to keep an eye on though.
Enjoying some of the posts about Kilkenny here too: https://bournemouth-forum.vitalfootb....13991/page-33
I have a tendency to pay more attention to the positive posts about our players on these fan forums. But it does seem that he had a good game against a team which has just come down from the PL and have installed a bright young coach in Ismael with a physical and pressing style. So, overall, the noise is positive.
It is also positive that he is under the tutelage of Scott Parker. Parker was a pivotal midfield player in a lot of Premiership sides and played many different midfield roles, probably specializing as an all rounder.
