It would require there being an FAI too!!
Best way around all of this is for Limerick to invite Barcelona over for another friendly now.
That'd require there being a Limerick in the first place unfortunately, but still, it'd be hilarious.
It would require there being an FAI too!!
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Limerick United to enter teams at the underage level, and the WNL, for 2020, with the U-19's under Tommy Barrett, aim to get a senior team together for 2021: https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-38847860.html
Worth a seperate thread?

Pat O'Sullivan still not letting go...

Ah here, this is madness. Imagine he managed to prevent Limerick united playing in the women's and underage leagues, wouldn't that give a real warm glow of satisfaction.

"Further, in accordance with League of Ireland tradition and common practice, Limerick United should be taking on the debts of the Company if it intends on taking on its assets (taking on the debts, shurely shome mistake, Ed)" states Mr O'Sullivan.
He seems to think his entity still has some value.
He also seems to ignore the fact that LOI tradition and common practice is to walk the f&*k away from your debts, not pick up ones from a separate, insanely poorly managed basket case entity.

When is he going to realise that he isn't getting his money back?
Pat O'Sullivan in court today, read his 40-page submission here: https://twitter.com/Lewi_Shaw18/stat...49775561265152
Edit: apparently Shams had representation present as well. Hearing resumes tomorrow morning.

Read it the other day. Unfortunate thing is, when you boil away all the madness he probably has a case. Certainly throws Mooney under the bus. The FAI should have let him apply, and then declined to award a license. Not sure what he realistically thinks will happen here, but it will definitely add to the ongoing uncertainty. Despite United being awarded the license there are a lot of people asking questions that are just being ignored. No idea where the funding is coming from, or who the coaches for each age group will be. Trials dates have been announced for 17s and 19s, but not the 13s or 15s. I'd imagine with the schoolboy short season already kicked off, the transfer window will probably close at the end of this month making it even tighter time wise to assemble squads.

The fact they didn't do this painfully obvious thing to do is further evidence of the absolute clown show they are running up there.
The fact Noel Mooney has a big job in UEFA and is sending fellas blank templates from his personal email address to put on headed paper is another insight into the brains of your average football administrator.
On the Limerick "United" coaching situation what I've heard is:
13s : Declan Farmer ( that's bad)
Someone else
15s: Jason O'Connor (that's good)
Niall O'Connor (apparently decent)
17s: John Grehan (Jesus came down from heaven and wept)
Sean Russell (awh shucks)
19s: Local Tommy
Ger Moran (that's bad)
Could be wrong but that's what I have from my sauces.
There's a few on that list that shouldn't be within 500 miles of a schoolboy team, let alone a "best in class" academy.
We shall see.
If they had let him apply and then denied him he'd probably still have them court, alleging that Limerick didn't get a fair shake/that others in breach of requirements got a license.

That's fair comment.
But I think "that boy over there was bold too sir" is a less compelling case than "this organisation has clearly breached its own rules here, here and here."
Had they rejected an application you'd have all manner of decent, respectable, football people that Limerick FC owe money to standing over it.
As it is the FAI just look amateurish.
Not that Pat has a snowballs chance in hell.
Bit it's all about the optics.
Unfortunately, in Abbotstown, the optics is the thing behind the bar that John boy was paying for all the free drinks from out of the expense account sound man that he was.
Anyone know if any of those names were involved in this incident?
‘Slightly fishy’ – CSSL accounts were altered for AGM
Fake balance sheets, dodgy expense amounts, cover-ups, delayed AGMs - well sh!t really does roll down hill in Irish football!

Possibility FAI will agree to let Limerick FC apply.
