But if they revoked the offer now, couldn't Sham also go the legal route? Unless it is laid down in black and white somewhere that the FD has to be ten clubs, they could claim they are being treated unfairly by being asked to give way. As stated, they've broken no rules, and are presumably budgeting for a B side to exist.

Provisional fixture list released, a Shield makes up the first 6 weeks of the season, then the 20 games.
The whole thing may well be scrapped anyway, but just one small point - does anybody else think that Rovers II should be the club with no fixture on the final day of the season, seeing as they wouldn't be promoted anyway? -
Good idea for rovers to be fixtureless on last day.

Fixtures of Shield make it seem like it was a real rush job.

Thinking about it the first division is finished way before the cup final so a mid season final would make more sense. -
Way back - in the one division era - they tried the Shield (two rounds of matches) first half before the League and second half after. Didn't boost attendances, though ...
