Cork City FC v Bohemian FC

This is a must win game for us!
We will still be top, no matter what happens, but we need to maintain our momentum and take the wind out of Bohs sails.
They're back in the hunt after a string of good results and will hopefully try to play football on Friday.
This has the potential to be a great game and hopefully we'll get the crowds to match it.

I hope the extra time and the Hibs game has not tired out some players too much.I hope for a better performance from the team than last night, and they wake up from the Longford induced stupor.
According to Noel King, Bohs are the most attractive team in the league, so we might get a decent game from them.....
Probably not a must win game as far as points go, but it is a game we must be really looking for a win from. Will our home jitters let us down again?....

Well, we all know Kingers sexual preferences, no don't we?? (Joke)
His idea of attractive football wouldn't be a lot of peoples thing...."hoof the bleedin' thing" was a familiar King cry from the sidelines at a few games I remember him being in charge of...

I don't think there are any "must win" games when 6 points clear at top of the table. The advantage of being top is can put the "must win" pressure on the chasers.

agreed, the pressure is off us a bit as we are 6 clear, so a draw on friday wouldn't be a disaster. however i fully expect us to win, bohs will come down to play a bit of ball, which suits us better than the 5-5-0 formation employed by longford last night. anyway, should be a cracker at the cross, and a good avertisment for our game (hopefully)
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

So, ye cant break down negative sides?? If thats the case everyone ho comes to play ye at the Cross would use this system....And they still managed one more goal than ye did, supposedly without a striker??

ha ha yeah, although their goal last night came froma midfielder after a corner..

its something city will have to get used to, and they'll have to learn to make their possesion count more.

that being said, i dont expect bohs to come down with the same degree of negativity that some sides have employed in the cross.. should be a good game methinks

Bohs are exactly the kind of team to get a goal and then shut up shop for the night.
If they score first, I think we could be in a bit of trouble.....

Given our home form, I think it will be a draw....

Definitions: Cork win - game is a cracker due to inventive play and the cavalier approach of Corks entertaining footballers.
Cork lose - opposition was negative, game boring, disgrace to the league, damn Longford, and Bray, and UCD and everyone else.

As a general rule games between City & Bohs have been good quality games. Both sides know how to pass the ball & hasn't been a scoreless game in years.

I need to ensure not out of the loop for Euro Odessy so will be my first "home" game since Portadown.

I know we are 6pts clear, but IMO we need to win this game badly. Its very important that City win as many home games as they can. Hopfully a great crowd will turn up again. City to win 3-1.

I hope Friday will be a cracker of a game ,Id say its going to be our biggest crowd for a league game this season .(i hope anyway) .I ve seen city beat Bohs in Dalymount this season ,City were well on top.But that was at the start of the season and since then Bohs are playing alot better .

dont belive i'm going to miss this one, the first game home or away i'm going to miss and it has to be against a team that plays the ball on the ground.

sometimes you just hate work, i better keep all my illnesses untill nearer the end of the season.

Bohs look to be at full strength for this game, Hunt is back from suspension and no real injury worries for the rest of the squad.

    Tough, tough game.

I'd say we will go down there with the attitude to play football and to go for the win. Two teams in good form and who play nice football should be a great game. Only wish it was on Setanta, even deferred, rather than the muck Shels v Pats will serve up. Would love a win but my head says 1-1 and i'll be happy with that result.

I don't see Bohs playing negative stuff, but IMO if we are struggling to break them down (if we go one down for example), the key for us should be getting the ball wide to Kearney. He's our main threat at the moment and it doesn't matter how many men you have behind the ball when you can beat a man on the wing and swing in decent ball.

Hoping for a big game form liam tonight..
    Mick D. for Ireland!
