Country Edition of the Irish Independent

for the last three saturdays has carried only one report of any el friday night matches and that was Rovers -v- Pats which was headlined by the 8pt deduction.

This is a disgraceful situation for a national newspaper to snub its own National League anyone know the background to this.

Probably has to do with production. They might have moved edition time forward due to some technical glitch, and too early for footie reports. But you're right. The bottom line is that they don't care.
Still, no great loss. I've never bought the indo (which is seriously infested with Manu-itis, as seen when it recently lost it completely over the takeover story) for Irish match reports.
If you're especially motivated, you can get them for free at unison.ie, although that's patchy too as it seems they may take their stuff from the early version.

as mentioned above, they have an earlier print run now than before.. so they could only cover the games that kick off at 7pm...

they dont really care too much about irish(ness) anyhow... never mind football!
