Chance to be a hero. Anyone remember Alex Manninger at Arsenal? He played a key role in Arsenal's title run-in in the late 90s when David Seaman was injured. 6 clean sheets in a row including in the title-clinching 1-0 win at Old Trafford. Career slid into obscurity afterwards though!

If he plays all of these 7 games ( barring injury / other ) we will know a lot more about Kelleher's ability as a full-time number 1 goalkeeper ~ Opportunity has knocked.

He's done pretty well in 2 so far (I think he was a bit unluicky for Luton's goal). The way they're scoring it looks like they can affort to concede some.

Liverpool have a lot of injuries so it is certainly going to get interesting.

Hell of a save, possibly a double-save by Kelleher to stop what looked a sure goal from close range. Distribution and decision-making otherwise good as the two teams go into halftime scoreless.

Great day for him, can't be far off man of the match. Hopefully will be the catalyst for a good move this summer.

A bit of a bummer that the game didn't go to penalties.

Well fair play to him. A very, very good performance under real pressure. And a contender for man of the match, even if it goes to someone else — he probably was the main reason Liverpool won today.

Incredible from Kelleher. You’d have to imagine that’s the type of performance that opens eyes across England. After Van Dijk, you’d think man of the match. Probably made half a dozen good saves.

I think this run of games largely justifies Liverpool’s decision to keep Kelleher. They’ve won 5 of 5 with him in the league, they’re top of the league and he’s got a 6 pointer against Man City and a Merseyside Derby in the league coming up.

It’s also essentially the argument that some of us made for him staying. He was bound to eventually get these opportunities and games like the cup final today and the big league games are what could elevate him to genuine elite level.

Two years ago he won the League Cup and I don't think he played another game for Liverpool that season. This time he has another month coming up now to really build his reputation. March will be the biggest month of his career by a distance.

VVD says Kelleher should get MOTM, but predictably he gets it himself.

But he'll be dropped for Allison....

Clubs will definitely be taking him more seriously now which is brilliant but it's not like he wouldn't have had options before.

If anything, the good performances back up the argument that he should have moved on ages ago and shown what he can do.

Either way, it's great for Ireland to see him performing.
    21 leagues and 25 cups.

In fairness if he moved on he wouldn't have won 2 league Cup Medals at Wembley or ever got the chance to play games for a team at the top of the Premier league. Their is plenty of time to be a top flight keeper at an average top flight club

Would you rather two League Cup medals or 70 Premier League games?

Hopefully though in the summer clubs are less put off by the price tag...

I'd rather the 2 cup Medals and the massive games with massive pressure , what's the point of leaving to be say wilves keeper never having a chance to win Medals or be top of the league when u have that at Liverpool

I think I'd rather he'd left for Wolves after the first one tbh
