He’s a striker. That’s his job. He obviously fancied it but didn’t work out. He’ll learn from it
Seemed a bit of an ask to let such an in-experienced player take a penalty in such a situation. Where were the other more experienced Spurs players ?
I know Idah took one for Norwich but he has a bit more first team experience and scored a few first team goals.
I suppose Parrott had the balls to take one and it shows he has balls.

Agree, did okay. No real chances. Held ball up nicely a couple of times. Really worked hard which I’m sure Jose was delighted with. Certainly an improvement on Alli in a number 9 position. No harm in penalty miss, character building. Baby steps
Alli’s body is struggling to cope with the pressures of being a professional footballer at that level. He could probably do with 6 months off but that does not happen in that job.
I think in those situations having the bravery to put your hand up and say "Yeah, I'll take one" counts for a lot. In a way I'd rather go with that guy then someone with bags of experience who doesn't want to volunteer. I suppose the key is making sure the second guy has the confidence to go for it, but depends on the game that's taken place in a lot of ways.

That's not right though, and Jose pointed it out. He started the first few minutes and did a few good things, after that he just couldn't find the right run and was not giving options on the counter, players coming left and going across right and vice versa. Perhaps thats just game time with those players, I hope thats it anyway. Jose pointed this out though in the post match interviews.
Spurs fans I spoke with felt he didn't do enough in ET especially with a very tiring Norwich team suggesting Jose is right. That he was dropping deep and running everywhere. Perhaps overkeen. Felt he should have done better on the counter.
I think the Parrott situation and Connolly situation has thought most Irish fans a lot, its probably a good thing.

Nonsense. Krul done exactly what he should’ve done if he thought it was more likely to lead to Parrott failing to score. Doesn’t matter if he’s a teenager or not.
Anyway dealing with a keeper playing mind games, missing a penalty all good for him i reckon - character building, a young striker has to experience these things.
Lets not kid ourselves, if Randolf says that he did that to a Slovakian/Bosnian/NI teenager in a few weeks, we'd all be delighted with him.
No way to know if it worked either, it was a pretty well struck penalty, seems like Krul was lucky to choose the right side.
I never like seeing players do that looping run around when taking a penalty - always feel there's a greater chance of an imperfect connection - still, great to see both him and Idah get good minutes
Keeper doing his job, getting an advantage. No problem with it. Troy will learn from it no doubt.
Folding my way into the big money!!!
Seriously lads, is there really a discussion about the Keeper being mean to the young fella?
Hopefully the fact that he wanted to take a pen will show Jose that he has the right mentality, seasoned pros have hidden in that situation. Other than that Im glad he got more than 1 minute and hopefully he stays a regular on the bench in the next few weeks.
Write up on BBC website today. Speculates that he may be involved in the CL game tonight - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51720135
