Ilves, Vaduz, Volendam, that's why. Right now, he's on a very good streak against lesser opposition. He needs to prove that he can go up a level in the Conference League group stage and against the bigger clubs in the Eredivisie. Meanwhile Hojlund has had three seasons at Serie A and Premier league clubs and has hit double digits in each (All competitions) and is still only 22

Hojlund is the worst center forward I've seen play for Utd and I think I've probably seen 95% of the games he played. Meanwhile Parrott has had 2 very successful seasons in Holland and has started this one brilliantly, that usually leads to bigger things after the Dutch league
    Its really not that complicated!!!

Newcastle should just sign Troy (along with say Jackson and Wissa). With Gordon and Elanga either side of him, there’d be plenty of pace to cover any shortcomings he might have in that regard. You’d have the alternative of Jackson for the plenty of pace but no finishing option and Wissa as an option anywhere across the frontline.

For some reason I think Parrott would be really suited to Bundesliga.

10 goals in 52 appearances last year in all competitions, and that's covering up a disaster of a league campaign: 4 goals in 32 games. You could hammer a wooden pole into the penalty spot and Bruno Fernandes would deflect four goals in off of it over a league season.

    Goal here, at 1;23
That's Parrott's 30th goal for AZ, in 54 games. Not bad.

Misses AZ's euro qualifier tonight with an injury.

Hopefully not one that will keep him out of the Ireland games.

Got the last 20 minutes for AZ tonight. I guess that's hardly going to have him fully match-fit for next week. But better than nothing

He's had a good first half away to Ajax. An assist for the first goal, then won and scored a penalty. AZ are leading 0-2 at halftime.

Parrott is starting to show some of the potential that he flashed while a kid at Spurs - it looks like that he just needed to grow up and mature a bit - hopefully it continues.

Something that needs to be remembered - most of the Irish squad are under 26 years of age - they will have another 6-7 years together. A couple of midfielders and we might have a decent team.

Either are hardly things lads on here are unaware of. Or forgetful of.

Frankly the idea of another 6/7 years of this Irish team terrifies me.

I think it is fair to say that Troy Parrott has found his stride in the Netherlands.

AZ thumped Utrecht at the weekend and Parrott was central to all that was good about them. He scored two, was central to the move that created the third, before winning (and missing) a penalty.

Troy is now clearly demonstrating at senior club level, that which he demonstrated at underage level for Ireland. He's a forward who scores goals and links play and creates chances for others. He's not an out and out 9. What he's definitely added is the desire to make things happen, in and out of possession.
He's going to be central to any improvement in our fortunes.

That's second goal is classic centre forward play, wins the ball, sprays it out wide, then makes a beeline straight for the six yard box and screams for the return pass.

    He's 23, I think he's doing more than fine.

Wasn't a dig at him, hes developing well and looks like he's turning into a fine player, crazy expectations of him at 17/18.

Evan could be out for the next window, but we'er blessed to have another forward in such good form. What's the best way to use Troy in the team? What does AZ do that Ireland needs to do to get the best out of him?
