The Examiner quoting the fee at £6m including add-ons - so a lower up front fee than that, which seems more realistic for what AZ would be likely to pay. Dutch media quoting it as a €4m/£3.5m initial fee.

    I thought Kortrijk stayed up?

Anyway, it seems a good stepping stone for Parrott to continue his development in a league in which he's already shown himself capable of performing, and can hopefully lead to an eventual move to one of Europe's elite leagues.

As to the standard of the Eredivisie, Opta seems to rate it as #6 in the world, one place behind the Championship.

Not bad for Spurs all the same.

Oh they did too. Missed the play-off somehow. Doesn't change the main point of course, but stand corrected on that alright.

2 goals 1 assist in 3 games for Troy. The other goal against Atalanta came from Lequincio Zeefuik - he's an absolute unit. 19 years old, 6'6, strong as an ox, quick and has great feet. Hopefully Troy scores 30+ next season and gets a move like Pavlidis did, before Zeefuik gets too good

Apparently was a real threat in a friendly against Stoke today and then went and scored this goal. Absolutely mugged the poor keeper, a Swedish international.

He has scored in each of the 3 pre season games he has played in.

Will be intriguing to see how his season pans out. If he stays fit then he could do anything.

I watched the 1st half and a little of 2nd. He was honestly fairly quiet before the goal. Commentator even said around 25 mins that he barely mentioned his name.

The goal was class though and he did look comfortable in the team, wasn't shy about complaining of a lack of a pass etc a few times.

Hes had a perfect start there in preseason, hopefully his best season ahead

AZ are 6/6 to start the season is a great start for him there.

Have not watched a minute of him play but from livescore seeing him only get substituted in injury time in a 1-0W is a good sign to his effectiveness early door. Or at the very least he's considered to be a much better option to what's on the bench to replace him. Hopefully to get of the mark with a goal next week to really cement his place in what looks like it'll be a competitive team in the Eredivisie.

Watched the full game yesterday, he was excellent. His work rate making him a favorite with the fans already. He has a lovely touch, and was unlucky not to score.

If he stays fit this might be a fun season to watch

Remember Parrott was tipped to great things 5 years ago - things haven't exactly gone to plan since - but the guy has buckets of ability. If he gets a good run this season we could see a major turnaround in where he is at.

Easy enough goal but good for him to get it, there were a few negative rumblings about him already from supporters before the international break when he had no goals or assists up to that point.
