Millwall commentator....unless u are Man City or Liverpool playing the ball out from the back is just needless bravado.

Not sure I fancy Troy's chances of having a lot of chances created for him by good football

That comment is a perfect example of why Jack Byrne needs to find the right club if he is going to move back to England

Millwall boss praises 'excellent' Parrott after Irish youngster makes full debut https://the42.ie/5279139

Seems like a bright start. Subbed early just to preserve him. And a couple of work-ons.

Played okay today, out wide left. A couple of glimpses of his ability. Slowly adjusting to senior football as he builds up his match sharpness. He should continue to improve, ideally more centrally.

I wouldn’t buy into the hyperbolic kennykids assessment

5th appearance tonight for Millwall, as he starts vs QPR. Looking at the team (without Matt Smith and Bod) and Mason Bennett playing, I suspect Parrott may be playing centrally. This is the time when he needs to start showing us what he can do

He could do with a goal for sure, but he could also do with getting a bit of service. Seen most of the minutes hes played and hes been far from brilliant but Millwall are awful to say the least.

His movement is so much better than his teammates and he makes runs that they can't seem to capitalize upon with a bit of good supply. However, I feel he looks a little lazy out of possession. He relies on the wingers to do his pressing and sits off the centre backs. Maybe he is allowed to do this but it just looks bad to me. There's definitely more in him.

Reasonable outing in a poor Millwall side. Just subbed at 1-1. One tame effort, one blocked effort, one nice turn and shot which keeper did well to save, and some nice link up play. Nothing earth shattering

Millwall are dreadful. Most passes are over his head. He seems to be the only player on the team who puts his foot on the ball and tries to pass it. I think he should have given more thought as to where he was going on load. I agree with a previous comment about him not pressing to vigorougly. HOwever hi was the 4th Millwall player to be subbed off.

The main positive is that Milwall seem to be taking his introduction and return from injury very carefully. He played a max of 60 mins in his first few starts. Got a break to come off the bench for a game, then got 75 mins last time out. He should be near full fitness now and hopefully, with that, comes some 90 minute performances and goals.

You would have to presume Spurs are calling the shots there, to a degree.

I wouldn't worry too much about goalscoring just yet. Millwall are brutal, most championship football is launched hoof ball over the head. This loan spell is, primarily, about getting solid senior game time for Troy. The goals will come. Experience is key for now.

    No disrespect, but that's nonsense.

Millwall, Wycombe, Rotherham (maybe?), Birmingham (more defensive than outright direct), Boro (under Warnock), Cardiff(ish) and that's it.

The other 18 teams, many of whom have overseas/ex PL managers, embrace a variety of styles which are anything but "hoofball".

As for TP going to one of the few which does, it could be because that was the best offer he received ("best" as in level, location, package etc).

While Mourinho, concentrating on the here-and-now of his current squad, probably wasn't bothered, esp since he (JM) may be gone from Spurs before Troy's time comes at the club.

    True enough.

While Millwall will want to prove to Spurs that they can handle loanees carefully, if they're to get any more from Spurs.

I think everyone just needs to be patient with Parrott considering how young he is.

At his age Harry Kane was in the exact same spot, on loan at Millwall. It took him a few more years and loan spells to really kick on, so it's very early days to be expecting much from Parrott.
