Yes I noticed the increased work rate too Ole. Maybe the “relegation” has given him a bit of a reality check as to what he needs to do to succeed, or perhaps he was just in a rut at Millwall and this is giving him a fresh start.

Anyway, those highlights demonstrate there is a real prospect there who looks like he could be something.

Ipswich frst team coach, Matt Gill, giving Parrott a fair bit of praise here:

    https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2021/mar...-troy-parrott/

Again, it's good to see his work rate being raised given the question marks previously raised over his attitude. Seems he was a good trainer at Millwall too.

I said on another thread that Ipswichs results have improved massively since Parrott went there, they were looking at relegation and now up to 7th. Not sure how much is down to Parrott but his lack of goals isnt everything. Ive watched them a few times and you can see hes desperate for a goal. I do think when he gets 1 he'll go on a run

It's good to see him doing better. We know he has goals in him at youth level, so once he translates the goalscoring ability to senior level, which I reckon he will do in the next year or two, together with his all round footballing ability which he is already demonstrating, we should have a very good player on our hands.

Great for him to get off the mark.

It was actually a really good centre-forward's goal - great anticipation and a cool finish.

Some having a go at him on another site rather oddly.

Bonkers stuff. I don't get why some people feel that everything must be binary. People who are excited over Parrott are often accused of over-rating or over-hyping him and they will go to lengths to cut him down.

Similarly, to counter a bit of excitement over Parrott and his potential, you will often find posters on forums willing to opine with serious confidence that he won't make it to the top level.

The internet can be a very depressing place at times.

bench duty for Troy today. Ipswich trailing with 15 to play and he remains there. indications are that Paul cook doesn't rate him.

I saw some piece in Balls.ie (I know) during the week saying Cook will be good for Parrott. Cook highlighted that Parrott had been picking up bad positions in the games prior to his goal last weekend.

Based on the fact that he was starting every game practically, but he isn't now. No need to jump the gun though hopefully, but maybe just as well he got that important goal last week.
