People are saying that Blarney Street have a Premier standard squad, others are saying it's experienced heads.
What are people's thoughts on them, should they start in third no matter what?
You cant put them straight into the premier league either. You have to earn that. When Glen Celtic came back a few years ago where were they put?
The Glen were put in the first Division and when Cloughduv came from the West Cork League they went Second division.
I don't envy the AUL on that decision but I think below should decide it.
Grattan B, Greenmount & Harp Celtic all seem to have good numbers and decent players so with them all forming I would say enter Blarney Street in the third division and fight it out over the year to see who earns trophies and promotion.
If I was the likes of Watergrasshill, I'd have planned to challenge this year prior to their entry so hopefully a couple of those third division sides are strong too.
Who is in first division and second division is also very interesting while the Premier could be stacked with serious quality from the northside and a very strong Coachford. If covered well, it could be a very good AUL product for the season ahead. Lockdown seems to have given many a new lease of life.
I see Niall Reardon has taken over at Cathedral, wonder will he have many ex Leeview/Casement seniors.
Any more word on Shandon Celtic reforming?
Word of mouth, managers and players chatting, etc.
Are Harp going AUL?
But clubs coming to the 3rd division stacked with premier quality players because things didn’t go according to plan a few years back makes a fool’s of the teams down in the 3rd division.
They are only acting as cannon fodder
Just in the example of Blarney Street because this is the team that it concerns now had they managed to keep it going and had a weaker team for a few seasons the very worst they would now be is 2nd division and even at that they would be higher than that as some seasons there was no relegation because teams moving MSL.
You look at what the Glen did when they came back they had no problem winning a first division and were going well in the premier a last year what beatings would they have handed out in the 2nd and 3rd divisions if they were put down there.
What benefit would that have been to the Glen and even more so their opponents.
The same thing will happen if a premier stacked Blarney St are down there.
Its a difficult one for the aul too be fair. If its all the lads they had before they finished up they are in there mid 30s first division much like the glen that time would be a fair league given the standard that team would be at youd have 5 or 6 dropping down from premier and the rest havent been seen since they were gone at a decent level. Surely we are looking at only 4 leagues aswell with the numbers left.
Looks like your info was on the ball Jake. Heard while ago Paul Corcoran is the manager of Glen Celtic this year. Neither of the 2 outgoing lads could work with him im told so are gone from the club completely. Should be a strong league with the Glen, Grattan old guard , Coachford youngsters, Bohs , Village, etc
It will be interesting to see how they restructure the league’s as obviously there was no promotion or relegation due to Covid but they have lost at least 5 clubs
Across the divisions so will need to move clubs up along to fill sections.
You could see roughly 5 divisions of 10 or there abouts
Perfect scenario so.
Any updates on knocka? Will they have a team? If so for they actually lose many? Will they be as strong as years gone by?
Macroom have also gone MSL I see.
