Waaaaaterford

Any chance that this time WUFC can actually organise ticket sales correctly? The last few times we've been down, the stand tickets have been oversold. We've had people go into the stand, only to find the seats in the city section full, and we're only allowed sit in one clock, so people pay for a stand ticket and end up "watching" the game from the bloody track, where the view is awful. Any chance of it being organised properly this time, so people don't get ripped off? It always leads to tension with stewards and guards because people want what they paid for

Question

More importantly will they have dedicated away supporter section for the overflow from the stand as they required to do for the League licencing?

Imagine if city only allocated say 50 seat tickets for the cross for waterford fans & the rest were spread around the ground would we be criticised?

Of course we would. Its ridiculous. If their ground isn't up to it, either force them to improve it, or deny them a licence.

and where do we play then Eanna?

We dont own the ground, the Corpo has point blank refused to even give us a temporary lease and John Delaney who incidentally an ex-director of ours is steadfastedly against us moving to a proposed green field site and if we managed to scrape up the 700k needed the assistance we woudl get off the FAI would be nada.

so compadre we are stuck in the hole for the foreseeable future.

Tough cheese then IMO. If you can't get your facilities up to scratch, you shouldn't be in the league. Simple as. Harsh I know, but these kind of decisions have to be made for the league to progress. I genuinely hope that WUFC can make some kind of progress, either developing the RSC or else moving toanother ground, but the fact is that the RSC is dangerous IMO

Would the FAI throw us out with our history and deprive the country of a major soccer stronghold. I somehow doubt it. Look, they are bending over backwards to accomodate Rovers, what makes you think they will toss out on our arses. We have been in the league 75 years now and look forward to another 75.

We cannot develop the RSC in our present situation so unless we get significant public and private sector support our situation will remain unchanged. If you were to apply the full rigour of the rules as you advocate, how many teams would be left. Be prepared to start counting from your thumb to your index finger. The league would be a poorer place without us and you know it.

CCFC do not own Turners Cross but still manage to develop it.

IMO Waterford should be forced to either allocate enough seats in the main stand for all city fans or allocate behind the goal on the Cork side of the ground exclusively to City fans.

The barriers used at the RSC are not suitable & i do not believe would require much action to replace with something more sturdy.

Fan safety is all about prevention.

wablue ... i see where you are coming from ..... i am being serious now

But in fairness ... look at the posts being made ... they are not breaking the rules, they are having a laugh, PartyBoy is also joining in. You dont automatically have to think that people are out to slagg every comment you make .... but if you act the maggot ... then your posts get deleted, simple as .... same rule for all.

Chill out a bit man !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Thumbs down

You are so right Pete. From now on every club who cannot have nice seating arrangements for Cork City fans are to be f-cked out of the League.

They weren't deleted, they were moved, because they had nothing to do with the topic. Keep making posts like the above and they WILL be deleted.

It's called a professional approach, and organisation. And its not just for City. Teams are supposed to have a designated away section. WUFC do not- that is dangerous. The barriers are dangerous also. Its an accident waiting to happen.

Last time out there was a joke, City fans all over the ground! I was just happy to have arrived early and got a place in the stand.
