On a serious note...I'd be willing to help out with this idea in anyway possible.
Well I suggested it on another thread, so who'd be interested in setting one up? Im new to the fanzine organising thing but have a few ideas
*Have it based on irish domestic and international football, similar to 11-a-side
*Sell it at every eL ground and International matches
*Get club fanzines involved in input to it if they are willing
*Like 451 in Cork, plow the funds back in to match day atmosphere, although Im not sure to which matches (International, domistic, both?)
*Feature a club and a player in each edition
*Feature an international player & some u21 international news
*Chants page
*Extract a lot of urine
*Allow various ultra groups to network (if they want to).
(more to follow)

Yeah, I would too, contributing and selling anyway, the whole print side of it I wouldn't have a clue about.Originally Posted by cullenswood

I'd also be willing to contribute or help out.
I print maps for my local Orienteering club. I should be able to print colour Fanzines to a similar quality. It'd be a little pricey though, about 30 cent per copy.Originally Posted by tiktok
I'd be happy to write for it. Have only a little experience in terms of putting a fanzine together, i.e. stapling, printing etc., and I will warn ye, its a lot more work than most people realise.
Im in, had a hand in the publishing of the Bohs fanzine "1984"
Eoin Mullen, Bohemians legend!
"You should always take good care of your cat" - Postman Pat, 1991
2005 - a great year for Irish football
I'm in I can sort any (within reason) techy stuff that might be needed to produce the fanzine
<I had to log off there a while ago so I couldnt put down all my ideas>
Ok well there's some sort of interest, so thats good.
Are there people willing to be involved who are based in Dublin? It would be good to have a get together (over a few pints maybe) to sort out a few things & have a brain storm just to kick things off. I dont know what the fanzine scene in Dublin is like so if there are any guys who have experience and want to help out that would be great (UCD guys Im looking at ye!
). Does Monday night in the city centre suit (say O'Neill's bar, suffolk street at 8.30)
The next international is Rep of Ireland v Israel on June 4 so we should aim to have at least one done by then. On that note though, Id like to say that I dont want to set this up purely as a responce to the current ticketing sham, but as a continuous fanzine about irish football in general.
Ive got to rush now but will be back later
PS
cullenswood, we need a proof reader, welcome on board![]()

I recon it would be easier to climb Everest than to get this running, but Im willing to give it a go.Originally Posted by Éanna

contact the shels lads at redsindependentas well maybe
Suggestion .... get a proper publishing package to put it together.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
To quote Jerry McGuire
Show Me The Money!
Maybe in time A Face, but its going to be a photocopy and staple job first though Id say.

Wish you the very best with it.
I have two observations that you can do with what you will:
1. IMHO, one of the most critical components is quality control. Will you be merciless when it comes to editing, cutting and even omitting material from well-meaning amateurs? Even when they can't write to save their lives or are as bad at putting sentences together as most of us are at proper joined-up football? At the end of the day, it's the reader that counts!
I'm not saying for a minute that amateur writing is automatically poor (and there's enough professional writing around that's dreadful, esp. when it comes to Irish football) but I think it's something you need to get a grip on from the start.
2. I'm not sure that the combination of international/LoI is ideal. They are (and this is of course a generalisation) very different constituencies. Does it make sense to put them together? I can understand the logic of a LoI fanzine with an international section, or vice versa, but they are not a natural pairing, content or audience-wise, for equal status and space.
Yes, that is true but like I say, Im only throwing out my own ideas, Im open to change. I would like to have both in the fanzine though. Obviously though you would have a target date to release the fanzine, so if its at an international then the balance would be towards the international set up. You can go for months with out Internationals or eL action and the balance would have to change accordingly.Originally Posted by BohDiddley
PS I think that harsh editing is required. Im hopeing for a lot of volunteers from various fanzines and Id assume that the ones who would reply would already have some sort of experience which would make editing easier (experience is not required of course). Im not going to print just to make someone happy.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
Not envolved with any fanzine (other then reading) but would help sell it if its any use???
count me in too il be there but should'nt we get some sort of piece treaty signed a cessastion of hostilitys so to speak between rival fans we can call it the suffolk accord or get in some U.N guys as observers![]()
