Apart from his loan period Idah hadn't been an established thing at Celtic that they need a replacement for. He did not nail a starting position, he ended up becoming a spare part, unlike say Kyota or O'Riley, who were established. Celtic certainly need forward players but not a replacement for a player who failed to make his mark. Rodgers prefers the lone striker supported out wide by wingers such as Maeda on the left and whoever on the right.

Just wanted to call out Idah's movement before the goal to find space in a penalty area that contained ten Hungarian players (including the goalkeeper)
Have to mention Ferguson dragging his marker to the front post as well to make the space
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

I will express my opinion again that Idah is underrated - he is not a 20 goal a season striker but he does an awful lot of stuff that goes unnoticed. I think the Swansea move is a very good one for him. He will be out of the spotlight - Sheehan's reputation as a coach is growing and I think he will do a lot better job of protecting Idah than Rodgers did.

Good to see Idah shutting up a few of his critics. Shush.

Professional football kinda comes with criticism. Anyway good-luck to Adam Idah.

    Yeah, definitely.

I think the Swansea move is a good one.

A greatly higher level of football. I really wish the lad well.

His movement is good for the goal.

But if I was Hungary manager I wouldn’t be happy that he was allowed slip away from the defender that easily

He took it well though and I’m delighted for him getting big moment like that in Lansdowne

Every debit has a corresponding credit. Every well worked goal for one team is an avoidable goal for the other.

Reported at the weekend that he's on £40,000 a week at Swansea. Talk about landing on your feet!

Something in the 20,000s at Celtic at a guess.

there's reports out there saying everything from 16k to 24k to 30k for Celtic. genuinely anyone's guess unless it's leaked by the club upon signing, you never really get an accurate picture of a player's wages. all those sportrec sites are just someone like me or you making up numbers. any time that an actual contract is leaked it like when someone went to Riise's bins and found his payslip or when there was an email hack which had Firmino's contract - those numbers have been totally different to what was reported

Seems to be settling back into his Norwich form early doors - 10 minutes today, 15 minutes last week, an ineffective League Cup start in there too. Vipotnik is ahead of him and in flying form - already on 6 for the season; seems a bit like trying to get in the team ahead of Sergent at Norwich.

Scored a goal, a penalty to equalise V Leicester after coming on as sub. Went on to lose 1-3.

One draw in six matches for Swansea drops them to 20th, one point ahead of the relegation places. The goal samhayden mentions above is Idah's only goal from play and he's started in only 4 of his 14 games. You wonder what happens Idah if Swansea go down - they'll hardly recoup their €7m outlay, and is he worth his place in the Ireland squad if he's in the third tier?

Molumby with a late winner as WBA came from 2-0 down to win 3-2, helped by four half-time subs.

Cannons already gone past him in goals scored this season. As things stand the only striker who should be guaranteed a spot in March, based on this season's form, is Parrot
