    He'll be Celtic's Lys Mousset

Did Celtic failed to get a replacement in for Idah? They do seem to fail in the transfer market more often than not. But a good opportunity for Kenny to get minutes now if nothing else.

Celtic seem to have contracted that Scottish feature of being very tight with money ! ! !

And generally I like people who are, cute / clever, with money but does it work re; football clubs buying players, when they definitely need to buy players ?

Maybe Celtic see a coming economic downturn better than the rest of us ?

This is nothing new for Celtic. The "biscuit-tin mentality" as it's known by their supporters has been in situ for decades.

At least the didn't go down the Rangers route of going off the deep end with, corruption /etc, but you would think their could be a happy medium !

When you think about it, it is surprising that Celtic don't, have or try very have, to have a very high level system for bring young players through ~ Though, maybe the Celtic supporters wouldn't be the most realistic fans for giving young players the necessary time to come through !

Celtic forums are crying out for a midfielder with a physical presence. Yet they sold Bosun Lawal to Stoke(?) for buttons.

They've signed Iheanacho. But (not unlike a number of other players from his part of the world down the years), he has looked past it since about his mid 20s. Although, possibly in this case, he was just never that good to start with. You'd never know, maybe Scottish football will suit him.

Idah, a confidence player and as young lad, probably never off the internet, was more or less hassled out of Celtic by the supporters. Some of the opinions expressed about him online are very poor stuff from what are supposed to be "supporters " after all. His 'shush' celebration after scoring for Ireland was about that I'd wager. He was a handy back up striker for the club who could step up to first choice if needed. All clubs of course always want better and Idah has several faults. He was adequate for Celtic and 9 million is not a lot in today's market but the fans seemed to think they had way overpaid for him. I'm a Celtic supporter but I'm glad for Idah that's he's off to somewhere a lot more low key.

When playing for Celtic, you are sort of playing in an un-real world. Scottish club football has become stranded by, their league / possible money generated by that league / possible money generated from football in a country that size. It's as if supporters of the " big " clubs in Scotland just haven't and can't come to terms with their present day reality. After all, soccer supporters are all too often impossible dreamers, and that is even more so, when you have had the now distant history that both Celtic and Rangers have had ! !

Tis only if a European league ( if Celtic and Rangers could get in it ) came about, could they ever have a chance of realising the fanciful dreams of their supporters !

The thing that got me about the shushing the fans thing was that he did it to the Ireland fans. Presumably didn't have the guts to do it to the Celtic fans, who were the ones actually giving him the grief. Thought it was a really short sighted move from him actually - especially as he's been bombed out of Celtic now but is still with Ireland for a long as he can hang onto a squad place.

100 percent. It was really out of place too. He's never gotten much jip from Irish fans.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

who knows... he may have got some abuse from someone in the crowd during the game and reacted accordingly when he scored?
its all heat of the moment stuff after scoring for his country.
i doubt anyone in the ground gave his reaction much notice

Id forgotten about the shushing thing, but I didnt like it at the time. He definitely doesnt get any where near enough abuse from Irish fans to justify doing that. To me its a sign that hes let the criticism from the likes of John Hartson get in his head too much. If he was getting hammered by Irish fans during the game Id say fair enough, but it looked to be a sign that he was mentally not strong enough, which in the end may have led to his departure from Celtic.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I noticed it at the time and thought it was strange, though it didn't particularly bother me much personally. But I think you're right about the questions it raised. Shushing opposition fans after a goal is fine. Shushing your own fans is different - doubly so if it was really for Celtic pressure. (And in fact equally if he was responding to foot.ie/ybig pressure!)

When was this? When did he score for us last? You tend not to notice these things when one is in the ground itself.

That was little Kingers not me! I was looking at Collins, it just appeared that I was looking at Idah due to my gunner-eye/
