Apart from his loan period Idah hadn't been an established thing at Celtic that they need a replacement for. He did not nail a starting position, he ended up becoming a spare part, unlike say Kyota or O'Riley, who were established. Celtic certainly need forward players but not a replacement for a player who failed to make his mark. Rodgers prefers the lone striker supported out wide by wingers such as Maeda on the left and whoever on the right.

I will express my opinion again that Idah is underrated - he is not a 20 goal a season striker but he does an awful lot of stuff that goes unnoticed. I think the Swansea move is a very good one for him. He will be out of the spotlight - Sheehan's reputation as a coach is growing and I think he will do a lot better job of protecting Idah than Rodgers did.
Good to see Idah shutting up a few of his critics. Shush.
Yeah, definitely.
I think the Swansea move is a good one.
A greatly higher level of football. I really wish the lad well.
His movement is good for the goal.
But if I was Hungary manager I wouldn’t be happy that he was allowed slip away from the defender that easily
He took it well though and I’m delighted for him getting big moment like that in Lansdowne
Every debit has a corresponding credit. Every well worked goal for one team is an avoidable goal for the other.
Reported at the weekend that he's on £40,000 a week at Swansea. Talk about landing on your feet!
He was hardly on that amount at Celtic was he?
Something in the 20,000s at Celtic at a guess.
there's reports out there saying everything from 16k to 24k to 30k for Celtic. genuinely anyone's guess unless it's leaked by the club upon signing, you never really get an accurate picture of a player's wages. all those sportrec sites are just someone like me or you making up numbers. any time that an actual contract is leaked it like when someone went to Riise's bins and found his payslip or when there was an email hack which had Firmino's contract - those numbers have been totally different to what was reported
