Celtic aren't going to pay anything like the fee Norwich want, and there doesn't seem to be a long queue of other suitors for his signature.
On that basis Celtic are probably right to play the waiting game. If Norwich want to sell, which I suspect they do, they may end up having to take whatever celtic are offering as the deadline approaches.
I reckon he'll go to Parkhead for less than £7m on the 30th or 31st of the month.
Bring Back Belfast Celtic F.C.
You joined a discussion about it being a club record amount.
Which it is. That was what was being talked about.
There was nothing personal in my last post.
He hasn't cost more than the players you listed.
& you said nothing about or nothing to suggest it was inflation linked. Not one word.

Geysir, crafty: further inflation-related bickering on PM. Further Idah-related conversation here. No further warnings before deletions and infractions.
You can't spell failure without FAI
Go Coillte Mach rachad / ní stopfaidh me choíche /
Go seasfaidh mé síos / i lár Chondae Mhaigh Eo.
Thanks to those who have spoken up on this today, appreciated.
I was left pretty confused by the mod shut down on this last night to be honest.
Geysir had been challenged on something, he then adopted a bad faith and disingenuous position on it which I didn't accept, so I challenged that too. God forbid on a discussion forum, that should happen eh. The worst that would have happened is I would have asked him where he previously ( as he had claimed ) spoken about transfer fees / inflation comparisons and he would have backed that up, or he wouldn't have been able to. My money on the latter outcome.
Either way he had been caught out on this initial post on the matter because he had said nothing about inflation. He had simply had BS called on him and wasn't liking it. That is why he favoured the mod shut down, and why it shouldn't have come.
Geysir an me are big boys, we'll have a couple or three run ins like this a year and we are both well able for it and they don't rumble on. It gets a bit pointy and we then both go and get on with our real lives & there is no animosity between us beyond those moments.
I would ask, having been instructed by the owner of the site not to, why you are falling back to this method of modding and with signs of life in here this last week, if it is in the best interests of the site or if it is personal preference again.
There seems to be push back from others on it, and I waited until seeing if there was, or if it was just me before posting this.
A point so good you made it twice Crafty
There have been a few times over the years on here when obvious trolls were allowed to constantly disrupt conversations because supposedly they were staying within the rules of the forum, we even had one clown claiming to be in Argentina and writing in broken english but yet it was tolerated for months if not years. Things like that are far more damaging to this forum than a couple of lads, who both are good regular posters, having a bit of a row. Let them get on with it, it generates a bit of interest and interaction which is what the place is supposed to be about.
It was the same in the Melia thread the other day, there was a bit of arguement, so what? Lads probably shouldnt be calling someone else illiterate but its not the worst insult in the world and that thread had about 3 or 4 pages of chat at a time when there is generally little going on. John83 you sarcastically made a point in that thread saying that you hope everyone is enjoying the new lighter moderation touch, yes it was much better. But here again the urge to shut down a conversation seems to over power.
I agree with Ole Ole, shutting down the Managerial Thread was completely unnecessary. Especially with Carsley getting the England gig there might be a bit of scope for talk about him in the run up to the September games. So what if its not strictly related to Ireland, its interaction and chat which is what that thread in the support forum was talking about trying to improve.
We all come here because we want to talk about football topics, shutting these topics down just because 1 person doesnt agree with what or how its being discussed is counterproductive to keeping this place going in the long run.
Its really not that complicated!!!
The hilarious thing about belisa/ Javier was , tets checked the IP( or whatever it is) and he actually was posting from Argentina! Now I'm now saying for a second he's Argentinian. He's not, I guess he's from templeogue. !
Yeah I heard that, he must have been using a VPN or something. He was committed to the bit if nothing else, a very special kind of weirdo![]()
When I was growing up in the Galway there was a lad that used to go around town thinking he was Elvis, maybe yer man really thought he was Argentinian!
Its really not that complicated!!!
I think it's a great transfer for him. Delighted it's finally confirmed. With the new champions league format it means Celtic are going to play at least 8 games in it. That's great experience for him if he can be the first choice striker for those games.
Its really not that complicated!!!
I like it too.
The SPL & Celtic brings its own set of challenges, beyond the questionable opposition & overall standard ones. He'd be at a club where second is last & its a pressure cooker every week, you have to win. They also have probably the most deluded fanbase in terms of their place in the world. All that said, it is a big club, and you need to be able for that.
Your opponent every week will up their game for either sectarian reasons or because they'd like to play in green & white themselves. Or because they're aiming to transfer to a better contract league & performances against the big two are a good way of doing that.
Let him do well there, see if he can top score the SPL & survey his choices at 25. If he does well he'll be in a nice position coming into his peak years & he'll have won things, he'll have medals. He will have had lots of top European competition opportunities to show if hes good enough to go higher.
Norwich will still be Norwich, Norwich will always be Norwich. Fcuk Norwich.

happy for him but i do slightly worry if he hits a barren spell how the fans might react.
i guess that's true at any big club which celtic still are.
I think it’s a great move for him and any player that’s playing Champions League football should be welcomed,we don’t have enough players playing elite European football and that has to change for us to get better….
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.
