I just want to say thank you for all you kind messages, posts, calls and texts over the past few days from people who know us very well to people who have never even meet us. They mean so much, I am crying my eyes out just reading them here.
Richie was more than my cousin, he was more than my best mate of 27 wonderful years - he was my brother. We did absolutey EVERYTHING together, from school to college, from chilling out to partying at the weekend.
The only thing we actually did different was he played schoolboy footie for Ardmore Rovers, i played for Wolfe Tone (against eachother !)
We still don't know what it was and it could be up to 6-8 weeks before we know, but he played the FULL game without any problems, the very second the game ended, Richie was taken from us for greater things. Gold bless you bro.
I cannot put it into words how much pain and heartache that this has caused our family, but as i have mentioned i would just like to thank everyone (fans, players, coaching staff etc....) on behalf of our family.

Roo, I and another Hoop worked with Richie in NY 3 years ago. One of the nicest people I've ever met or worked with. We attended the funeral last friday and it was great to see the huge crowd including a fair sprinkling of EL players.
