To be fair a Shamrock Rovers v Bohs final would be great to see at some stage.
I wonder would Bohs bring a big crowd to it? Obviously they are getting great attendances at home but I wouldn't say they would have as many bandwagoners as ourselves for example. Which is by no means a criticism. Always annoyed me that we could get around 15,000 to a final but only average around 3,000 that same year.

I think it would attract a large 'neutral' crowd too.

If you missed the last one then you missed the best of them.

Despite the obvious advantage of Dundalk being in the final for clubs competing for 4th place, hopefully Waterford can spring a surprise.
Any combination of the other seven would make a nice change .

Nothing new with this Dong, generally accepted for most clubs, their take up for the final is around 4 times their average. This has certainly been the case for DFC, avg last few years 3k or just below, avg take to a cup final, between 10-12k, I think possibly 14k one year. Its a family day out, used this example before, in our house its just me going every week, cup finals, add maybe 2 more, (small kids) and in one case 4 of us went.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

Ditto for rovers, every week its me but for a final its 5 or 6 of the extended family who have sufficient interest in Rovers because they have to listen to me all the time banging on about Rovers.
Not just Ireland though , small clubs in the UK who get to Wembley for small cups or promotion play off finals always bring a massively bigger crowd.

Unless they're Salford City and Fylde FC

P.S. England is not the UK

Being honest I’d love to see a Dundalk / Shams final on the presumption we don’t make it. Could attract a huge crowd and would hopefully be a decent game.

Teams from Ireland can't play in cup quarter-finals in Scotland though.

    True story.

    Pedant much ?

They can, but as we all know Scottish & NI teams can't. So the point still stands.

    Move along now....

The competition desperately needs new faces in my opinion. So I'll be praying for anyone but Dundalk to get there.

Leahy and Mandriou included in Under 21 Squad, so quarter final v Crumlin is likely to be postponed.

Only two other squad members from LOI, one from UCD one from Waterford.

Are Bohs really likely to move the Crumlin game with two players missing? And how does this all fit with the Scottish Challenge Cup thingy, which is due to be played that weekend too?
