You've been rather quiet yourself recently!
No question over the red card. Bradley did get his tactics riht tonight. Be interested to hear more about Long giving abuse to 'his own ball boy'. If it was pros v amatuers tonight, on and off the pitch was it the opposite for a run of what 8 games without the 'pros' winning?
We will never know if the red card really would have made a difference to the result but Rovers were starting to sit deep just before. There was some amount of graft from Rovers and a few lads were starting to blow hard after pressing and containing Bohs for an hour and a bit. Finn nearly wore out the pitch tracking players up and back. Ward on earlier also could have changed things up as Bohs were screaming out for someone to put a foot on a ball and play in to Wriht rather than the out ball for Wright to try and run on to. When Bohs were on the ropes even after 5mins it must have been infuriating to have to wait 2-3 minutes for the game to restart. For the criticism above on behaviour of fans there were 4 and 6 minutes of added time which could have been anxious times for a team holding on to a lead.
It will feel strange not to finish the season witout a trip to the Aviva if we get turned over by Sligo after 4 years on the spin!
Rovers fans proved before kick off that there is more in intelligence on Mars than in their fan base with all the missiles they fired at James Talbot before kick off.
Bohs gave away a soft goal and never recovered. Youth and a lack of experience was definitely a factor in the game.
Unfortunately a few morons acted the idiot running on the pitch and dragged Bohs FC name through the mud near the end of the game. Frankly neither team's fans came out with any credit. Disappointed in Bohs fans. Its normal for Rovers to disrespect the opposition, but for Bohs to sink to their level after losing the game, that really hurt
Both clubs have a small number of spacer braindeada but in all seriousness the policingand stewarding was **** poor a few cops standing at the back of the jodi and along the front on the pitch was all that was needed and same on the other side. If the COPS in cant control a 4 k crowd and lets be honest in terms of world footballs potential mass crowd disturbances is div 3 AUL Saturday well they need seriously review how they police these games, Rank amateurs, you would wonder whether they let things go so far just to ensure their overtime, the media frenzy and the up in arms mock indignation on social media platforms. On a preferred final opponent, i want Dundalk beating the best side in the country would be a statement of intent and head us into next season with great expectation.
Rovers were full value for their win against a limited Bohs team who were lacking in ideas, but to acclaim this as a Bradley Masterclass in tactics is a piece of slapstick hype.
Rovers dominated their more limited opponents with the energy and aggression that has been absent in most of the derby defeats - the fact that such a basic fundamental is described in these glowing tactical terms is very telling.
Rovers the better team all over the pitch. Pressed Bohs high all night, never gave them any space or time on the ball. Didn't push the back line up too high either, and kept Mandriou out of the game. Didn't think Rovers were brilliant themselves going forward, but worked so hard without the ball and made Bohs look really poor.
Bohs had nothing in attack, that Wright lad couldn't link up with the play at all, and they just gave away possession all night. Did Mannus even have one real save to make in the second half until that injury time freekick that was routine anyway? Only Grayden and Grant on the left wing did anything decent.
Clear red card for Mandriou, borne out of frustration as much as anything else, after not being in the game at all. I wouldn't think it changed the game as he wasn't having any impact anyway.
Ouch ! Awful night at the office performance wise and better team won. Took a risk on a few clearly not fit players and it backfired (Mandroui and Bucko).
Shams not great but always in control and deserved win.
Didn’t seem like a Dublin derby, Bohs players didn’t turn up and shams fans weren’t sneaking out after 75 mins 😁
Less said about the morons on both sides, all “pitch invaders “should be jailed.
I thought Rovers were poor on the night. They had better spells of play in Oriel on Monday.
Bohs were so poor, Rovers got away with it.
Special mention to Mandriou, going for self glory the whole night and then lets his team mates down badly. The lads needs to think more about the team than getting himself a transfer deal.
Not a great game.
Rovers had what quality was on show & Bohs never really threatened at all.
Maybe the early goal from a corner which wasn't a corner at all affected the quality of the game or maybe it was the big occasion which got to the players ?
The red card was a red card all day long & probably borne out of frustration.
Great pity to see parts of a ground in a cup semi final closed in this day & age.
It really shows what problems we have in the LOI 🙄
Great to have something to play for now until the end of the season, if we had lost last night (september) our next meaningful match wouldn't be until February....
The race for Europe between Derry bohs and pats will keep a bit of interest in the last few league matches, everything else looks pretty settled.
Hope to see a decent crowd for next home match.
I guess all 3 teams Chas i ng Europe will be cheating for dundalk on Sunday...
What was the fighting about?
Yea noticed that hopefully it was the ordinary decent supporters giving the muppets what for
