In fairness to Rovers they'll finish 10-15 points ahead of where they did last season. This'll be their first top two finish in 8 years. Their defence is better, their attack is better. Moving slowly in the right direction. There's still a big step up to Dundalk, at the minute though, IMO.

Given the resources invested And a relatively poor league (Cork and Waterford collapse, Pats HK implosion) I would expect better.

Anything less than sub 10 point finish and (at least) a cup final surely a very poor return ?
I called it at the start of the season being within 10 of Dundalk and i stand by what i said, finishing with more points and higher up the table is progress. i think we now play decent ball and you can see the team being improved throughout the season, Dan Carr being moved on and Laverty coming in. We are not a million miles away but need to be pushing all the way next year.

I don’t think it’s a strong division this year. Cat think of any team that’s better this than last (maybe shams, slightly). Bohs no better than last year and most others are worse !

Same is said every year! This year though I can see the argument that Waterford and Cork have disimproved, But Derry and Shamrock Rovers are on an upward trajectory and Sligo are getting wins at home this season. Pats have been meh considering preseason expectations jumping to league challangers. There have been for nearly every season of the last 6 or 7 a side completely cut loose at the bottom. Going in to next season the top 4 four will be more competative in general. Shels will be an improvement on UCD. We will have to see what happens during the close season to before starting to predict how close the top two will be and whether keeping pace over a whole season with Dundalk is likely though just getting over the Dublin Derby hoodoo will narrow the gap for Rovers.

Hope Bohs get the 'issues' sorted the next couple of days regarding the tickets for the semi. Rovers would have been expecting to have them for the Pats game on Friday.

The club cannot confirm away ticketing arrangements for next week's semi final until a number of issues raised with @bfcdublin and @FAIreland have been resolved.

Nice cryptic tweet from Rovers just now

Probably to do with bohs letting their members show up on the night without a ticket and paying 10€ instead of 15 €.

€5 per member is deducted from the Bohs " cut", after the FAI have brown paper bagged theirs .

Not sure what the hold up is on the away tickets, presumably something to do with the Gardai having the final say on how many away fans they can "police"? Would have no problem having it in Tallaght as Garda management down there seem to be a lot more reasonable than our friends in Mountjoy GS

Bohs members all in the Jodi, shams in Des Kelly.
Bohs members access has nothing to do with shams allocation. None of shams business as their cut of gate (and that of FAI) is covered.

We are way better then we were last year. As are Derry. Shams have definitely made progress.

I would also say Harps and UCD are better than Limerick and Bray this year.

Yet Bohs, who you don’t mention are ahead of two of them and shams only second because of huge increase in budget and Cork implosion 😁 wow.

Nope,I don’t believe Bohs are better than last season therefor how can Derry Sligo etc have improved so much ? Is the table wrong ?
Thought that was pretty simple ?
