The only saving grace is that there are three teams yet to record a victory in the League so far!
Funny that - the league table shows that only four teams have scored more than us in the league this season, and two of our forwards - Paul Byrne and Conor Sammon - are joint fifth-top scorers in the league. Not to mention the two goals they shared in the League Cup as well.

Our problems last year were because our midfield and defence weren't contributing goals - already we have Doyler, Cawley and Shortall off the mark as well.
We still have less than a point a game which is how we finished last year..
How exactly have we improved? Granted we are conceding fractionally fewer goals and possibly scoring fractionally more goals. But the outcome is the same pathetic points tally!
Let's re-visit this thread after we've played all teams once, not after we've played a disproportionate number of last season's top four.

Yes but we were both Non-League so it was so far in the Preliminaries as not to be consistent with the latter stages which the first qualification in the 1930's was when we drew a League side. By the way Rovers beat us 6-2 according to The Hoops by Robert Goggins and Paul Doolan ( no not that one!)
So it wasn't in the First Round proper then? Was it akin to the First Round nowadays, or more like the First Qualifying Round in the FA Cup?
