PFAI elected to FIFPro Board

FIFPro, the world players union, which represents over 57,000 professional footballers worldwide, held its annual Congress in Noorwijk, Holland this week. The highlight was the opening of FIFPro's new Headquarters in Amsterdam. The main news from the Congress, from an Irish point of view is that PFAI General Secretary, Fran Gavin, has been voted onto the FIFPro Board. Fran will represent the Rest of Europe on the Board and he will hold this position for a four-year term.

Following the election Fran said, " I look foward to working within the Board for the next four years. This is a proud moment for the PFAI and it is recognition for the work of all those involved in the Irish players union since it was formed in 1960".
