I thought "Bunch of Thyme" was by Foster & Allen or some such no-marks. Would be VERY surprised to hear Linfield or anyone else singing it at a match

When the odious "Build my gallows" is sung by a small minority of juveniles at some Linfield games the following has been observed or should that be, heard by me:-
    a) the tune used in the verses is the same tune as in the verses of "Bunch of Thyme"!
    b) the chorus is definitely not "she'll be coming round the mountain"
Right, I see what's happened now. Sorry for wrecking your nerves BAT!

Ya see, Steve Bruce first wrote this:

Towards Paul Millar - If you hate Paul Millar clap your hands(to the tune of Build My Gallows)
At which firstly Erstwhile Bóz bit, and then meself, saying that's not the tune of 'If You Hate Paul Millar (or anyone else) Clap Your Hands', 'Round The Mountain' is. Or at least it is in every other club in the Anglophone world.
Then you thought we were saying 'Round The Mountain' is the same tune as 'Build My Gallows', but we weren't.
Ridiculousness sorted, back to the other chants then.

Dr., yeah though I think it's a trad song, it's most infamous for the time Foster & Allen embarrassed the whole country by performing it in leprechaun suits on Top of the Pops in the early 80s.

Balls. Fecking football matches. I've been singing If You're Happy and You Know It... to the wrong tune for the last fifteen years.

''XXXYYYY XXXXYYY We'll support you ever more'' is based on Welsh hymn '' Bread of Heaven'' FACT. Songs of praise used to be shown on Sundays shortly after coverage of the English football on ITV's Big Match ended and that I believe to be the connection. That the footie fans were too lazy to change the channel back in the day before zappers and subliminally took in the melody.Either that or all football fans cross channel are Methodists

Also to the tune of D-I-S-C-O was "schiz-o-phren-i-a" and "Does Liam Kearney know you're here"

I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter telling you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do
    If you still want me
    If you still want me
Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree
    It's been three long years
    Do ya still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the old oak tree
    I'll stay on the bus
    Forget about us
    Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree

Bus driver, please look for me
'cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see
    I'm really still in prison
And my love, she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her please

Now the whole damned bus is cheerin'
    And I can't believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons round the old oak tree

    I'm comin' home

    The original

    Spider-Quig, Spider-Quig,
    Does whatever a spider-quig does.
Can he spin from a web?
    No he can't, he's a Quig.
Look out... He is the Spider-Quig

"We all here on a technicality" just edges Derrys "4-3" for chant of the season

Not sang by us but got great pleasure in playing "That's Entertainment" as I watched what was left of the Dundalk fans departing from Kingspan Century Park last night.

Bohs fans songs changed from "This is the best trip, I've ever been on" to "You can stick yer ****ing longball up your arse" tonight
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
