I think after this adventure that the club should take a long look at itself and decide to move on as there has never been as much money available as before and also get up of their arses and sell lotto tickets like the rest of us. Should be easy to sell with all their supposed support ie 100 people sell 20 tickets @ 2€ P.W. is €4K. lot of money so its time to get the finger out dont you think !!!!
jesus lads mayo sounds like the place to be with their superleague, excellent arena's and all the money thats floating about. b*****ks to serie a

    Mayo Super League

The super league in Mayo is excellant, would agree with mossy about westport grounds - they are a shambles and with the size of the town, its about time they got that sorted!!!!! They are the worst along with glenhest but they won't be there to much longer in the super league i think!!
The league here in Mayo would stand up to all junior leagues in ireland including Limerick - i would think the limerick league is the best in ireland for good footballer sides (3 in last 8 of FAI Junior Cup this year). but Mayo league is slowly creeping up on Limerick in the stardard of football as evident with Mayo just losing to Derry City in league cup without any of the Westport players

    Mayo League

The Mayo League did well against Derry City, however, a young Westport man named Lawless did play for them (albeit as a sub) so you must have been reading the wrong match report up in Swinford. Don't be too hasty about Glenhest either, many a **** up has been generated down there such is the hostility of the place, your boys may find that out all too soon!

Thats young man Lawless should have been playing if he was there, he the best player in Mayo at the moment and gnasher i think swinford and glenhest will go down this season

You're right about Lawless, he is peerless in Mayo right now, and he can play anywhere. I think the previous nights celebrations may have been on Tierney's mind when putting together the teamsheet for the Derry match.
Swinford fc, i know you're only being realistic but if Celtic keep on that bad run there could be more than just yourselves and Glenhest in the relegation mire! Glenhest definitely going down though.

May I remind everyone that the Connacht cup semi final between Castlebar Celtic and Westport a couple of years ago and the Final afterwards were probably the best attended games i have ever seen, even bigger than the Carew Park v Westport games.Best attended games i have seen over the years featuring Mayo Clubs
    1. Westport v Castlebar Celtic - Connacht cup semi final (awful weather too)
    2. Castlebar Celtic v Moyne Villa - Connacht cup final
    3. Carew Park v Westport - game 1
    4. Carew Park v Westport - game 2
    5. Erris united v Castlebar Celtic - league decider 2003
