Agreed could have gone either way. I admire the way Patsy and the lads have ye set up. No one hides, everyone is there to play the system and enjoy the game. Set pieces are brill and obv well worked on in pre season. Won't be long before ye are back in the top flight if one or two more can come through. Had a good chat with Patsy after the game. Best of luck from here on in.

Couple of twists and turns to go yet I hope.

Douglas had a penalty saved after 10 minutes. Even first half with not that many chances for either team. Douglas pushing for a goal with a few minutes left let a 2 on 2 situation at the back and were punished.

Any results from the other games this morning?

heard midleton escaped with 3 points from tramore, by all accounts tramore played very well but had to make 3 subs before half time including their keeper, they had no sub keeper so there centre half had to go in goals!! midleton only scored their second goal with 3 minutes to go!! finished 2- 0

Mallow 2 Corinthians 3, good win for us down in Mallow. 2 up at half time but mallow never gave up and could have levelled the game late on. take the 3 points down in Mallow any day.

Today's results see everyone in contention slipping a bit. We played pretty well, had plenty of the ball but just couldn't penetrate the Blarney defence. Their 'keeper stopped a Mark Murphy penalty in the first half, and they scored on a breakaway when we were pushing on. Rockmount and Everton results still leave us in the driving seat - need to get back to the convincing form of earlier this season, although the last couple of matches had plenty of encouraging signs.

    Douglas Hall 0-1 Blarney Utd

Even enough in the early exchanges with douglas looking to establish there passing game. Given penalty after 15mins even though the foul may have been commited outside the box. Justice served when donncha saved from Mark Murphy although tore his shoulder muscle when saving and had to be subbed. First half came and went with both sides struggling to create much but Ken Coleman came close from a volley with a minute left in the half. Second half saw douglas pressure grow and pinning blarney back but showed very little end product. Douglas threatened from corners in the last 10 but it was blarney who stole it with a superb solo goal by Coleman with 88 on the clock. Went passed Wilkie at the centre circle and ran towards goal with support to the left, He went alone and powered a shot from edge of the box into the bottom right corner. Blarney saw the game out and claimed a massive win to open the title race wide open. On a bit of a sour note, Some douglas players refused to shake hands after the game even though it wasnt at all a dirty match. Understandably they were disappointed but sportsmanship goes a long way. Elsewhere though Everton and Rockmount fail to capitilise on a hall slip-up. Does anyone want the senior league???

mayfield 0 mount 0 1st half had little chances but i think our lads were slightly the better team,2nd half started the same way till the last 20 minutes and mount took over and put our lads under loads of pressure, having a good few half chances but alberto in goal was brilliant he made a brilliant save with his right foot when going to his left and made an even better save from ross's penalty.i think over the 90 minutes a draw was a fair result

Everton 2 St Marys 2 , even enough first half but Everton went 1 up just before half time , long ball not dealt properly by Saints defence , second half was a good half with Marys getting 2 goals inside the first 10 minutes & playing some terrific football , everton equalized with 10 to go, then came the controversy , last minute of the game Coker crosses for John Paul O'Sullivan to finish only to see the the goal disallowed by the Linesman , terrible decision as the player looked well onside , free kick taken & game ended, Saints more than unhappy with the decision . Tightest league in years by the look of things , lots of teams within a point or 2 of each other.

Was the lino john linehane by any chance because he was on one of the lines,if so every team cant be wrong about him and the league should do something about it,a very very bad official

Good summary Reznik. Was at the game and fully agree with above.Blarney were superb in defense and midfield and in fact Blarney probably had the better chances in the first half.
Douglas really did threaten with some superb deliveries from corners but overall disappointed with their attacking ideas.
Left once the whistle went but I have to agree that it was a really competitive game but nothing dirty or no ill feeling between any players. It was more ill feeling toward the linesmen on both flanks that I could see.
I could get shot down here but aren't Douglas known for this kinda of stuff.I've seen it before where they storm off without shaking hands.
All doesn't look too healthy up in Douglas.Players don't look to be playing for the manager and that may cost them.

Very good summary RESNIK.. i was at the game myself!!! very good game to watch.. although Douglas hall played better football, they certainly showed signs of a team of individuals. Players trying to do it all themselves when other players were in better positions. Blarney had great team spirit even under great pressure.Worked as a unit throughout the whole game and deserved to get something out of the game!!!! great game. i would not be surprised if Blarney get a Result against Rockmount friday night!!!!

Looks like College won tonight vs ballinhassig. Big win. Last chance saloon for us on Sat against them away and still need other results to go our way.

    Bring it on.

Lowest of the low if you ask me, the likes of Tramore have not got much to celebrate this year but you dont hear of them not shaking hands after a game. Maybe Douglas are getting what they deserve at the moment! To be fair though I would imagine it is the MINORITY of Hall players not shaking hands with their opponents. This weekend will tell alot in the title race.
