i suppose he would be better off going to douglas hall, play beautiful football and win absolutely nothing!! Rather than chasing long ball day and night up in rockmount and challenge for trophys year in, year out. Douglas look a team that are on a slide, would be a mistake for him to join them i think.
Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
i agree with you about douglas being in decline...i also agree with you about rockmount being title contenders year in year out....but i believe this isnt going to last much longer either,my opinion about stapleton, why would you sign for a club if your not going to enjoy urself playing in the team week in week out...ive seen midleton play this year they try to play the right way,to be honest i think midleton/avondale/douglas best footballing teams in league, and also i think midleton are two top players away from being real contenders in the future, but for me avondale will dominate the next five years!
well my little mexican friend we havnt crossed swords in a while but I have it from the horses mouth Rockmount would be the last team he would sign for in Cork.If hes to move teams it would be to play at a higher level Cork City or Cobh this guy is one of the most loyal you could meet and hes happy playing Friday night football in front of 200 plus people week in week out he is loved by his team mates and supporters alike.
It came from a very good source with it being a rockmount player and he confirmed a phone call took place and the deal was 90% going to go through, plenty can happen in the mean time and he might never leave but im only passing on info, people on this can either take it in on this or turn a blind eye to it!
I know for a fact that the lad is working with Avondale and hall players who are trying and at the moment failing to get the lad to sign with them.he just wants to play football and last thing he wants to do is leave Midleton because he is loyal to them.but don't think he will stay if they go down...no chance he will sign with a northside team.none whatsoever
Rockmount 2 hall 1
Ye can all comment about ian stapleton going here, there and everywhere, but he wont be leaving midleton this season, as has been said, he is as loyal as they come, only left cobh wanderers because the club have gone backwards big time in the last few years, didnt have a choice but to leave!
In fairness to Midleton they have been very unlucky recently.they outplayed the champions few weeks ago and got nothing from the game, and conceded a last minute equalizer last week.one win for them will turn their whole season around and the likes of mayfield everton and Marys will be looking over their shoulders.and chubbs is the one man that can get them the win
That win would want to come fairly lively because they are odds on to go down,i think its Mayfield and College they have to play in their final games of the 1st half league programme and honestly i cant see them beating either of those, that late equaliser they conceded last sunday could prove fatal in their chances to survive!
Tonights Beamish Stout Senior Premier game, Rockmount v Mayfield Utd, scheduled for Rockmount Park at 7.30 is cancelled. Senior 2nd Division, CIT v Crofton Celtic, in CIT at 7.30 also cancelled.
Doesnt look good for the weekend
No, let us travel. It gets me out of the house for a while... and what about the loss of income for the refs20 euro I believe to check the pitch to call it off.... money for jam.. or pints..
I have to agree with you el nino about getting a win but that Midleton team are a very committed bunch and have come through alot together only 5 seasons ago they were languising in the second division and have been through an awfullot together they have character in abundance and will gave any team a game they should have beat rockmount they should have beat blarney and they should have beat leeds but they didnt thats football I was talking to there assistant manager the other day and he still believes they have the fight and quaility to get out of the current situation and if you have that believe it can get you points look at Marys last season bottom with tramore last christmas but they need to do it now.
think all games should be off now, as if for the simple reason clubs rely upon the gate money an awful lot to help contribrute towards the running of the club and pay for ref's! apart from fermoy and midleton are their any other clubs that have a stand for fans?? can't imagine many people venturing out in this weather to support their teams!
