Kevin Long starts, Robbie Brady and Jimmy Dunne on the bench for Burnley at West Ham; it goes hard to note Driscoll-Glennon in the squad as well without being able to include him in the 'Irish Abroad'.

He's from Liverpool, entirely possible he does qualify.

A 3 year deal too, for a 32 year old. It's an interesting one to say the least!

Had been on loan to Nantwich Town and had scored a couple on his home debut against Hyde, including one after nine seconds. His loan was extended to the end of the season before... well... you know

After Shane Long, Michael Obafemi, and Will Smallbone were introduced against Man United last night, I looked up three substitutes even came on for the same team in the Premier League before: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...08741594132663

pretty sure I have all appearances by Irish players in the Premier League since it started. Appearances for all other competitions are accurate, but not complete, from the 2005/06 season on. A few players apart, I'm confident in anything from 2009/10 on.

we're delighted to welcome Ireland and Brighton striker Rianna Jarrett to the show to discuss her career, and the rising role of minorities in sport in Ireland. Does Sheffield United's success in the Premier League give any clues as to how the new Ireland manager will use their Irish players? Will the Irish players on the fringes of the Southampton squad have a part to play in the manager's future plans? A year ago, Jason Knight hadn't made his professional debut - 12 months on he could be their player of the season. Finally, on the occasion of his passing, we remember Jack Charlton's time in charge of the Irish national side, and what it meant to each of us.
