Cork City -v- Hibernian FC. (sco)

Cork City will pay hibs of scotland on july 3rd (sunday) k.o. 3pm.

It will hardly be a full strenght city side in the middle of our season and two weeks before our uefa cup tie, however something different.

Sounds like a decent game! Now what will I wear...My hibs jersey or my City one??

I would actually like to see City full team VS Hibs full team just to see who is better : a top EL club or a top SPL club!

yeah me too. It would put the question to bed for a while if the el is at the same level as the spl minus the old firm.

I don't think this match would determine who is better as Hibs will be in pre season and are also playing Shams and Drogs so won't be playing full strength team

Saw them play Dundee United at Christmas and City would most definitely be well able for them. Our problems is how we play ...... If we play like we did against Nantes then we'll take them apart .... if we play like we did last week we shouldn't bother turning up. Technically i'd say City are far superior, the way we can move the ball about (again we'd have to play to our strenghts)

They had a playing on the corner back and he was in a cast that day .... he was fairly pacey and passed it about fair well. They have two blondie forwards and they looked handy enough .... after that, they looke ordinary to be honest. They took Dundee United apart that day but that is nothing to go on, believe me.

Not bad. You saw ONE hibs match, and you know Cork are far superior

Well i have also spoken to mates that live there and see SPL every week and they see eircom League everytime there are home, having been eL fans before they left. I have also observed the standard via Sky Sports etc. the same as anyone else.

If what you are asking is "Did you base all this one game ?? " then the answer to that question would be NO ya muppet it is based on a bit more than that !! i wouldn't claim to be a higher authority on it but I am giving my opinion ….. is there a firing squad a dawn for that now is there ??

Less of the name calling please, stop being a child. \

You are going by what other people told you, Hibs have not been shown on Sky Sports in years. So YOU have NO personal opinion on the Hibs having only seen ONE of their games

Yeah ... they know both leagues well and i'd believe them, i have one or two mates from Scotland and they'd say the same (in the last two years anyway )

I suppose i was generalising there and should have said having seen SPL on various channels .... but i am sure that you will afford me that one error.

Oh .... or would you ..... i mean someone could look at a Pats game and base our league on your performance .... now we couldn't have that now could we !!

So YOU have NO personal opinion on the Hibs having only seen ONE of their games
No at all Saints4Ever .... au contraire my friend .... i do have an opinion on Hibs .... we are by far the better team .... no matter how many games i base it on ..... we are better end of really !!

To be fair, Hibs have received plenty of plaudits over here this season for the way they play football. They lost 2-1 a couple of months ago at Parkhead and played great football that day. No long ball stuff, all to feet and enjoyable to watch. Very unlucky not to have taken something from the game.

They'll start in the second qualifying round while we'll be in the first one.

Not sure if the draw for the second round will be made at the same time as the first round so there might be a possibility of us playing them but won't be definite when we play the friendly.

Yes we have played some great stuff this year. Looking forward to playing City if they are much more technical than

glass
boozy
Riordan
O'conner
Caldwell

and others should be some game ,

cheers Ben
