Rest of the League Not Playing Fair

I agree with Rico completely in that the rest of the League are ruining the sport as a spectacle and coming to Turner's Cross to try and stifle the home side.
This totally unforeseen turn of events seems to be becoming a trend, with UCD, Bray and now Drogs all heading south with the sole intention of snuffing out the free flowing football that the crowd loves to see.
This does not seem to happen anywhere else in the League, as in all other games, the away terms try and attack with verve and gusto.
Come on lads, no need to be so defensive!

Is this a joke??? All these teams got results in Cork, that's what's important to them

Away teams doing that has plagued Bohemians over the last few years unfortunately, and our home form similarly dipped. Now that people are taking Cork seriously as a top side and real contenders you are going to have to get used to it I am afraid.

"Luckily" for us we're not in contention this year so hopefully teams will come to give us a game

Don't think there is any real reason to complain about the clubs. Other clubs will not be going to Turners Cross to entertain the Cork fans, they will be going to try and get a result.

Same as every other league in the World. Up to Cork to break teams down, not up to away teams to roll over and play into soft (but skillful) teams hands...

Fair play to the teams that have gone to Cork and came away with a result!

Cork, as the home team, have an obligation to provide the entertainment, not the visitors who have to be given credit for coming away from the X with a result

When Bray played down in Turners cross and drew. This was a great free flowing game in which each team could have one the match easily.

Sharks are as tough as those football fans who take their shirts off during games in England in January, only more intelligent.

Its up to cork to score and play football. If they manage to get a goal then the game will open up more as the away team try and attack. Its totally rubbish of rico to suggest that an away team should not be defensive especailly when there 1-0 up. Its more excuses for playing poor blame everyone else.

Could be mind games by Rico, another manager might think right if he thinks teams only come here to break down the play we'll go down there and play ball and show em how its done, propmpting a more open suited to cork game.

Will Rico return the favour? Last time Cork were in Belfield it took us nearly 70 min's to score the winning goal because of all the hoof-ball Cork played. Can we expect Cork to play the ball on the ground this season where we can beat them much more easily?

Exactly. Its up to us. Frustrating as that may be, we're the home team, we're the ones challenging for the title, we have to beat whatever is put in front of us without moaning about it. The fact that teams come down and play for a draw is a compliment to our ability.

Im sure Shels have been getting it for years too. Its what happens to all the top teams.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

Spot on there again Eanna, must admit that even Shels resorted to it this season and look what it got us,a defeat, still we learn from our mistakes but away from home to a team like Cork the pressure will always be on them.

Btw have to agree with Cosmo you are the most level headed Cork fan on here.

Bray & UCD while somewhat cautious in their approach played a bit of ball and got draws, Drogheda barely ventured out of their half and won.
So its backs to the walls from here on in.
Anyone want to buy a season ticket ?
