It was going the same way as every thread about those two poxy clubs in that poxy league has gone. I'm sick of having to read through endless drivel about it because people can't just discuss football and only football.

No, its because using the word ceptic led to the discussion going down the same road as every other thread on the subject.
If I closed every thread I didn't like, there'd be a lot more disappearing. I closed that one because I'm sick of the same old discussion over and over and over
Let me ask you something Saints4Ever: Do you think that's an effective way to get people to listen to your arguments? Do you think it's a mature way to resolve a problem?
I stated last week in the Moderator's forum that I have no objection to a complete ban on Celtic/Rangers discussions, for the simple reason that - for whatever the reason; political, religious, sheer stupidity - they never, ever conclude without at least one flame war.
Nobody here is getting paid to monitor or enable this kind of discussion. If people want a platform for arguing with each other and bitching like children, I'd be happy to provide it. How does a tenner a month sound?

Celtic topics should not be banned IMO its the people who troll on these threads and ture the topics political that should be banned

So it's ok for these "wars" to happen now and again on some threads???? Who decides what threads? What about moderators with posts about their own national team being a bunch of english ******'s on a website with 99% of people from that country. I guess you feel this is ok.

I know but please don't ban Celtic Threads, some people actually want to use them for footie chat not just slagging them off and disrespecting other religions and nationalities...
There is a lot of trolling in these threads I know and it's a hard decision to make, but a few suspensions might sort it out

Well, the way I see it, none of these alleged non-flaming posters have made even the slightest attempt to help the moderators deal with the issues. No reported posts, no PM's, no nothing. Why should we give a sh*t?

I thought it was harsh myself when I saw it was closed. Can understand Eanna's logic but can't help thinking his judgement was clouded by his hatred for all things Celtic and SPL.
Now I hope this is not going to get shut just because we are questioning it but sometimes I feel the mods and Adam go over the top (espeically if they are having a bad day).
We all know you do it on your own time and you should know that we all appreciate it but the contempt shown for it's users sometimes is insulting. Quite ironic given the "attack the post not the poster" line.
I don't hate Celtic or the SPL. FFS, I have a Celtic jersey in my wardrobe. I'm just sick of every thread about Celtic descending into the same old ****e over and over. If people were prepared to just talk about football it would be fine, but every thread about Celtic descends into the same argument "Hun" this "tan" that etc etc
