Thoroughly deserved win by Dundalk tonight. An injury time winner is always a great way to win and the fact that it was a penalty makes it even more enjoyable in many ways. The truth is that Dundalk should have had it wrapped up much earlier. James Talbot had an outstanding game.

Bohs management (and any objective supporters) will need to look at the roles played by Ryan Graydon and Ali Reghba tonight. Graydon lasted 13 minutes on the pitch before departing after 2 yellow cards, while Reghba was subbed off 12 minutes after coming in as a sub for Ryan Swan as he also should have picked up a second yellow (the ref bottled it twice)

Second best tonight unfortunately,Rovers sharper all over, in midfield in particular they impressed,in saying that the 3 goals were gifts, not the games that will define our season but had hoped we'd have troubled them more, still think Rovers are a proper number 9 away from winning the league.

Most teams have now played 18 games - half their league fixture list.

In the last 9 matches Dundalk have taken 25 out of 27 points. Pretenders beware!

An absolutely deserved win for Dundalk. The second half display almost constant attacking, tough on Bohs but only as it was so late, ridiculous challenge for their man take Jarvis out of it on 94 mins.

Good decision by Bohs to take Reghba off even though he only came on a sub, he was heading for their second red and no mistake.

Dundalk still not at their best performance wise, slowly getting things moving, results have been excellent though. 8 wins in the last 9 now. Impressive.

Ali Regbha is a big child.Absolute disgrace how he played when he was brought on.
Then when he''s subbed, pulls a huge strop and letting on then he didn't know why he was taken off and crazy thundered down the tunnel in Oriel when he was ! Hear he was on the Bohs bus after the match in his Harry Potter pyjamas

Dundalk not really on form last night but kept going until the last second.Penalty was a penalty despite all the crying going on.

Ahead of the chasing pack at the halfway stage of the league,we'll take that!

Who is crying?,Full time professional side win narrowly against part time young players. The only surprise is the decision to contest the game so physically. The yellow card count is disgraceful and points to a team out of control or just too in experienced to play that sort of game.
Need to focus on our rivals for third place.

I was very close to the Bohs dugout and Long was incredulous at his childish behaviour. The lad should consider Aussie Rules as a career option.

When we regularly beat you lot we are still a part time team with young players, is that a reason we beat you or an excuse?
Anyway , good luck to Rovers in their pursuit of Dundalk. I am afraid that by the time the season is coming to a close the interesting battle will be for third /fourth place

Thankfully we never have to use it after we play the Shams.

I can understand Bohs' frustrations losing to a late penalty, again, but they can have no justifiable complaints really. Gifted a goal after 2 minutes they were time wasting from early in the first half and there was none of the football we're used to from Bohs. The two yellows were pretty clear cut, the penalty was clear, how Reghba didn't get sent off I'll never know and one of the centre halves could have gone for a terrible studs up tackle on Flores on the edge of the box. Even Mandriou had two bites at Murray before hacking him down for his yellow and Talbot's yellow came after a good 70 minutes of time wasting. A bad day at the office. Dundalk going ok, but really need to be more clinical up front and tidier at the back. Played football until the 96th minute and got the reward.

At this rate Dundalk will score more penos than we do goals this season.

That isn't a dig at Dundalk either.

Not expecting much from tonight as you can probably tell.

The penalty count for Dundalk might not be as much of an anomaly as it seems. With 2 pacey wingers in Duffy and Kelly, fullbacks and at least one midfielder driving in to an opponents box consistantly the chances of mistimed tackle or quick footwork in/at the box are high. Add in the physically robust type of player that Hoban is then defenders have to get physical to manage and a decision eventually will go with the striker if there are 50/50 decisions. Add in the dark arts of course. It would be interesting to see how many frees are given in the final third due to pace in the team and trying to go past defenders, when attacking players get down the flanks especially and in to the box in the way that Duffy does there is always going to be a risk of being fouled.

Maguire was a specialist as using his pace and a similar thing was happening. Kenny's issue at the time was that Dundalk were not getting decisions as he saw it more than Cork were gettin soft decisions. Cork fans lauded how Maguire 'manfactured' penalties and there is no doubt going to be some element of this with Dundalk currently and as distasteful a part of the game it is a 'skill'. I still dont think SK came out of that media rant too well!

What is highlighting the penalty count mainly is how sketchy Hoban's finishing has been yet is top of the goal scoring charts with only something like 3 goals from open play. I think its only 6 points that you could argue were gained by a penalty decision as points were dropped by missing penalties. Then how many prevented goal scoring opportunities?!

Another Kenny masterclass of 'go out and try score some goals lads'
    Here on a technicality.

Just on the pens Dundalk have been awarded, I’d agree with John Gills post match summary, all were correct decisions, bar the one away to Bohs. I’d also say one more wasn’t given that should have been, when Gannon was taken down away to Rovers, then again Rovers should have got one also with the handball by Hoare in the same game.

In both home games v Bohs this season, pens were awarded after decent attacking moves well into injury time, and on theses occasions the ball was kept on the deck and to go wide as most opportunities. These are the rewards you get when you keep going. In saying that we didn’t deserve to beat Bohs in April, but we absolutely did last night.

The only positive out of last night, is we've only one more game this season where we'll start a referee and a penalty down.

Did you manage to coax Stephen O'Donnell out of retirement?
