Level with them in the coefficient club rankings, though only because Milan have only been in Europe twice in the past five years. Mad drop off from being in the knock out stages of the Champions League six years ago.
    I mean it still makes for an interesting discussion. I mean AC Milan are availing of their country's collective co-efficient. So that's where the league co-efficient can sort of also reflect the quality of the league. So based off of the clubs i mentioned in my edit;
Romania still have all 4 clubs involved.
    Azerbajan still have 3 clubs
and Kazakhstan also have clubs involved.
Israel now have 3 still involved...

I don't think they are. The club coefficient seems to be the greater of your club coefficient or the league coefficient.

So a new club in Europe will default to the country coefficient. Clubs whose own coefficient is less than the national coefficient also default to the national one (see Southampton, West Ham, Burnley and Everton) But Milan and Qarabag have both earned their 19 points, based I think off the rounds they reached in Europe rather than the wins/draws they got.

Though I don't understand why Liverpool scored 29 points for winning the CL last year, while Barcelona and Chelsea scored 30 points, as did Liverpool last year when finishing runner-up in the CL.

El-Pietro will explain all if he pops by!

aha yes ur right a new Italian club would get 11.63.
If AC Milan were to have made it to the group stages of the CL they would be in the 4th pot where Atalanta currently are. In the Europa league they would likely sit in the 3rd pot depending on other teams etc.
the 4 leagues getting 4 automatic places somewhat distorts the value of consistency and performing well I feel. I preferred the more graduated way it had been before...

Some Dundalk players nearly got nicked for taking photographs. This is the problem with letting these fruity country's into UEFA.

Liverpool lost 3 games in the group stages.

    For 2018/19 matches onwards

    UEFA Champions League points system
Group stage participation – 4 points
Group stage win – 2 points
Group stage draw – 1 point
    Round of 16 participation – 4 points

Clubs are awarded an additional point if they reach the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals or final.

N.B. Points are not awarded for elimination in the qualifying rounds or play-offs, since those clubs move to the UEFA Europa League and are awarded points for participation in that competition.

Presumably the players were taking photos of the Irish journos & snappers? Outrageous behaviour

    Brilliant description !
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

No they were not. Police came and told RTE, Dundalk that they couldnt do interviews/photo op's on the prominade without a permit.

Situation was resolved in a minute but dont let the truth get in the way of a good story

All seems innocuous enough from the RTE report ("a minor misunderstanding" it was called). Azerbaijan has a pretty poor reputation on press freedom and treatment of journalists (albeit it's mostly directed at Azerbaijani journalists), I can imagine any encounter a journalist has with Azerbaijani authorities could be nerve-wracking.

I actually think early start is not vital and the opposite, if Dundalk go down a goal in the first 15 is it not a bad thing. I think if they go down 1 0 midway through the second half it is a bad thing.

had a decent bet on dundalk at 4/1 on Paddypower to qualify.
If they score its not a 4/1 shot ...value bet but i have to say on balance i am not feeling positive for Dundalk or Rovers.
The bookies have Appollon at 3/10 on to win and they don't often suffer from bias

Azeris wouldnt let it finish in a minute. The only right countries in this area are Armenia and Georgia, any of the Turk language stans or jans are dodgy and its never just a simple "good ladeens be on with you"

So why jump down the throat of someone for saying the exact same thing as Gannon.

Can't exactly stop them, they're entitled to be members.
We could feck out Israel, Cyprus and Armenia though.

Just going from Derry's high 20s experiences in recent years in Turkey and Belarus, we struggled come the second half. It was notable last year, when we needed one goal to go through against Dinamo Minsk, we just didn't really have that final, all-out push for a goal in the last 10 minutes. The players were wrecked. The game almost fizzled out.
I'd fear the same for our clubs this week.
