Rovers showed the penos on Periscope, cut it off after they missed the 2nd penalty and then deleted the video

He's related to former Shamrock Rovers player Richie Purdy by virtue of being him. His dad Richie also played for us.

Thought this evening was a poor enough victory but credit to Bray for their victory. Thought it could have gone either way within 120 minutes so can't begrudge them the win on penos.

Rovers haven't been cup specialists since the 1980s.

I don't think they've ever been League Cup specialists either !

Derry City 11 titles. Dundalk 6, Pats 4, Bohs, Athlone, Cork and Limerick 3 each - then Rovers on 2 (with four others).

Richie Purdy was a league title winner with Dundalk in 1994/95, very good right full, he was exellent in that very surprising league championship title wining season (the next one was a very long 19 years later in 2014).
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

Maybe the person filming didn’t have a list of the names and, well you know, it is a distance away, and dark.....🤔

Mannus is decent, but with his age, I'm not sure he is that much better than Rogers, Grace yes, excellent player, very strong I'd have him, no way Clarke is better than Massey, as for Byrne, good start to the season, and his first in LOI, lets see how he does over the full season.

I'd have Finn back in a heartbeat, but only if he re-joined next season (unlikely) and from any other club the only one I'd be interested to improve Dundalk would be Morrissey from Cork (even more unlikely to ever join).

I did think Hery was an option previously, and he is still a good player, but he wasn't great in the 4-0 defeat last month.

Manus is younger than Rodgers and is a far better keeper.
Clarke is ahead of Massey and I don't think will be still at rovers at years end but will be over the water.
Not sure Morrissey improves you significantly.
Shows the depth of the squad you have that there are only a few players you would take with the pick of the league.
Agree with you on hery , I would have had him last year but he has not kicked on and is a bit inconsistent for top team

Mannus is 36 and Rogers is 37. Mannus is a far far better keeper. Massey and Clarke isn't even close, Clarke is miles ahead of Massey. Even the most one eyed of Dundalk fans would say that.

as for Byrne, good start to the season, and his first in LOI, lets see how he does over the full season.
He's top quality, first season or not, you could make similar arguments about Dundalks midfielders being injured and lets see how they are when they come back.

I stand corrected on the age Rogers v Mannus, I got that wrong.

Clarke is obviously a lot younger than Massey, and only one can obviously go to a higher level, I wouldnt swap Massey still, 4 league titles and much better experience, maybe in a few years time !!!!

Seems strange to butt in on a Rovers v Dundalk conversation but I'd definitely have Mannus over Rodgers.

Never been convinced by either keeper. Rodgers on his day a better keeper IMHO but Mannus more consistent (Rodgers much more prone to **** ups). This season is not the greatest crop of keepers we have seen.
