It’s no point complaining about Sligo Rovers getting airtime, if your club sits on their asres and expects the cameras to attend to them.
Last week was our biggest attendance, but unfortunately the camera is situated high in the new stand, where all the supporters are gathered, and what the viewer sees is a sh*tty crowd. We must consider changing the camera point, because it does give a poor reflection of the crowd.
It’s far from a first-rate programme on the Eircom League, but it’s the only thing we’ve got. It’s up to the clubs to promote their own grounds. So, instead of running down clubs who is trying to promote the game locally, you should take a leaf out of our book and do the same.
anyone have the expertise to film the united games and then edit them for the tele, it is prob the only way to get united on the tele...and where did the scaffolding for the cameras go?

In fairness I don't think United v Cobh/Monaghan/Limerick etc is a mouthwatering prospect on TV so you can hardly blame TV3 for not covering the games.

Ideally there would be cameras at all games but we're years away from that in Ireland - they don't even have cameras at all GAA games!

As the Sligo fan says we should try and get some camera equipment etc - even if it's only 30 seconds each week it means the club can get more for sponsorship.

    Tg4

is our best bet for EL coverage, as Terryland is situated inside the Gaeltacht and their studios are only 10 miles from our ground.

JC GUFC is correct, subjecting the public to 90 mins of GUFC vs Kilkenny/Athlone (insert most First Divsion clubs) would be counterproductive.

The TV coverage is timed poorly. Our target market has to be under 15's. I was introduced to GUFC through the television screen. Back in the day RTE1 had a sports highlights programme around 10.00 on Sundays. I would not have been allowed up until 12.00 to watch United, and quite correctly.

EL weekly should be on around 7.00. If we get a "big" club at home in the second round of the FAI Cup, then TG4 could be lobbied to show the game live. The Sligo Rovers league games could also be shown - TG4 could market it as garrison town thugs versus heroic true Gaels. Galway is the last bastion of Irish culture on our island. Sligo is a microcosm of what Ireland will be like in twenty years time.

    Aontaithe go deo,

    PD.

Apparently us "garrison town thugs" have to pay to be on TV3 which is a joke

    Quite correctly

Paying for things, I realise, is a new concept to the likes of yourself.
    You can't rob TV coverage.

In fairness, I am the pot calling kettle black. You have Sean "Port Vale legend" Connor. We have Nick "Trust me" Leeson.

    PD.
The league and cup coverage has already been agreed if im not mistaken.
It would be unlikely that TG4 (aka rté) would want to cover any more games than they have to.

True but I'm pretty sure TG4 actually are showing cup games from all rounds - maybe they'll show the Galway derby - United v Hibs!!!
