I dont think that is very fair. I watched it last night. Hindsight is a great thing. its easy for us to sit there and say, oh how callous, they were just looking for their keys, to go home. Id hazzard a guess they were in shock. The police were totally underprepared and over whelmed. It appears that no one knew what to do. Put yourself in their position, they had just lost their cousin, they were in their early 20s, and they were hundreds of miles from home, with communication proving a problem. I dont know what i would have done in the same situationOriginally Posted by paul_oshea
Im not an expert, im too young to remember it happening, its purely what i took from the programme, and im sure people will disagree.
The game should never have been played there, the stadium was falling to bits.it is a tragic loss of life, much like Bradford or Hillsborough.
Football is much more sanitised nowadays, and as a result, a hell of a lot safer IMO.
