He did absolutely nothing for the whole game but jog around in circles.

no he didn't. I was watching him closely for the whole game, because a few people had said to me over the last few weeks that he was leaving Hoggy very exposed- guess what, they were right! He just hung around the centre circle for most of the game

Just looking at pics of the game on the official site- see this one. Was the guy strying to strangle him or what? Ref was far too slow to book people- the "tackle" on Doyler in this instance surely deserving of a yellow- he VERY obviously making no effort to play the ball

Great picture. Think that was 1st "tackle" on Doyler before he cut inside & breezed past last defender.

I truelly belive Dolyer is the key player is the city squad now. He holds the ball up very well & good pace when required.

    Lads,
I don't mean to be overly negative but Eanna is spot on about Woods - 2 was generous. Billy has been brutal this season - has a habit of basically hiding by running infield - he offers nothing himself and worse still leaves Hoggy very exposed by leaving huge gaps on that flank. He needs a good stint on the bench - especially when Rico has several other options:

    1) Put Doyle on wing and bring in Johnno (best option IMO)
    2) Give Roy a try on the wing
    3) Put Colin out wide

I'd go for option one as I think it solves the issue of dropping Billy while also bringing Johnno back into the team - once he is fit that is where he belongs.

Doyle is our best striker so I don't think that is an option really. To be honest I dont think Billy should be dropped. We are unbeaten in 18 games and Billy has played as much a role as anybody else on that run.

I'm not Billy's biggest fan, I'll admit that, but I think he was excellent during the run-in last season. This season has been a different story- he just hasn't looked up to it. I think we should be playing our 4 best midfielders, at the moment that would be: Colin, George, Gamble, Kearney

I like Billy & I thought that Billy came on a lot at the end of last season and thought that he would have got better being reunited with Rico, but he's been awful so far. Either put Doyle on the right and bring back JOF or put Colin there and bring back Gamble.

Eitherway, its not right having JOF or Gamble on the bench when Billy is jogging around the place.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

    Harry,
I take your point re Doyle - fair enough. Billy Woods has played no part whatsoever in the games I've been at this season so far - namely Bray, Shels, Portadown & Bohs. The simple truth of the matter is he has not being playing well enough to retain his place - Billy's continued inclusion must be pretty galling to the likes of Joe, Neale, Roy & Johnno - what do they have to do to get an opportunity ??. Woods out ... NOW !!

He was dire up in Longford too, looked dead on his feet for much of the game and neither penetrated nor covered back.

    Thats Palmer again.....
With the roastings he has got from Doyle over the last few years, Palmer has to wear heavy, brown, waterproof underwear in case he even HEARS the name Kevin Doyle......
