Tell me in what country its ever was a good idea to have the military patrolling the streets? The police are there for a reason. Turning the military on your own people is only ever done by Dictators wanting to hold onto power

The military are soldiers who fight in wars. This is the National Guard, men and women who have gone into hurricanes, floods, fires to save people's lives. And you call them the SS? You're labeling of them is a disgrace.

The National Guard are Military, as are the Marines who Trump illegally deployed on the streets of LA. The National Guard are not a police force, they are not trained to be a police force.

Right now we also have Trumps Gestapo (ICE) snatching people off the streets. They are masked and do not identify themselves like law enforcement are supposed to do.

Again I ask you, point to any other country in the world where military patrolling the streets is a good thing? It does not happen in any democratic country, but has been used in Fascist regimes the world over. If we want better policing, then train the police better. Do you want us to have to go through military check points when we are out and about? Military checking your papers to make sure you are a pure American?

So were the black and tans. Deploying them on the streets here didn't end well.

Listen, agree with you. If we were to list all of the contributing factors to serious crime and gun crime, they’d be all the socio-economic causes you list and political stripes of the state or city leaders would be far down the list and, at best, an indirect cause. The only reasonable I asked the questions and played devils advocate was because someone raised the connection first as “the reason” and you happened to be the last one to post something on it.

Together with upbringing, family and culture. I know this is discussion centred on America but I’d say those are generally the most important contributory factors for crime (unless they’re coming under the socio prefix).

I've heard a new word in the wake of this shooting, Groypers. These are a group who follow a guy called Nick Fuentes who are basically Nazis. They were in some sort of conflict with Charlie Kirk who was not right wing enough for them.
