I assume by Republican state you and Tets mean, the state voted Trump...?
Stu quite honestly cities across the world have high crime rates. Its just a load of b0llocks being spun whether its red or blue in any country for most part. The lads here love highlighting Chicago as high crime, but for the most part Chicago is a fantastic city that I love going to. I probably wouldn't spend too much time in the south side of the City though, much like theres parts of Galway I wouldnt wanna be at night.

Anywhere there is poverty there is crime, simple as. If we want to look at poverty rates in the US, the top 10 poorest states are overwhelmingly Republican. Maybe we should be focused on that sort of problem instead of giving tax breaks to billioneers.

Again the 2 lads coming out with statements like the left love murder. Two months ago Melissa and Mark Hortman and their dog were murdered in their home and there was no moment of prayer in Congress, no lowering of flags to half-staff, a Republican senator openly mocked their death and other Republicans just ignored it...and that's only one example very recently.
    Its really not that complicated!!!

After over a decade of complete chaos and BS, it’s the only reasonable take left. Extremists and dangerous idiots on both sides are w@nkers of the highest order. Fanning flames constantly.

Good post Razor. Will reply in a bit.

Listen, agree with you. If we were to list all of the contributing factors to serious crime and gun crime, they’d be all the socio-economic causes you list and political stripes of the state or city leaders would be far down the list and, at best, an indirect cause. The only reasonable I asked the questions and played devils advocate was because someone raised the connection first as “the reason” and you happened to be the last one to post something on it.

That is utter nonsense, gun are regulate properly in just about every other country and mass shooting are rare event in just about every other country. Gun law are lax in the USA compare to most other nations and mass shooting are an almost weekly event. Every other country has violent films, violent video game, mental health issues and all the go to reasons the gun lobby use, he reason mass shooting are most common in the USA is the ready access to fire arms. You can dress it up anyway you want that is the sole reason

Looks like criminal activity going on, wouldn't you say? Wonder how those criminals get guns? Could it possibly be that the judges entrusted with enforcing the law are not doing their jobs? If not why not? Can you look into that?

Any of those guns could have been legally purchased in the US. Maybe you should investigate that?

Legally purchased and then stolen is that what you mean? Or do you mean guns trafficked by some terrorist organization to Ireland in which case it's an international crime and the authorities in both countries should soon be on top of it?

Let me know how you make out looking into those judges.

And while we're on the subject of guns the anti gun lobby in the US has long since said that it's ok to own a hunting rifle but not a semi automatic pistol or rifle. Well the gun that killed Charlie Kirk was a hunting rifle.

Looks like the suspect is in custody.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Do you judge everyone, by what their parents are, or what their parents have done ?

Maybe a bit of patience would be the prudent way, for a while at least ?

Patience he says. The guy who instantly posted that the Left loves murder right after the shooting before we had a clue who did it. When it turns out it was a white guy from a good old Republican family its "lets not be so quick to judge".

    Absolute fcukin hypocrite

I might just quote myself here I guess...

The Current Affairs section here can be very good when it gets going. But not when seanfhear and mark drag everyone down with their nonsense posting.
