Well over 3,000 at the Brandywell tonight! Unreal for a Monday night fixture! That's about 35 away fans we've had in our first two home games.
With a bit of luck we will climb away from the dangerzone. But seriously at 1 down the panic buttons were being pushed whereas before this it was 'look at how last season started'. I think enough football has been played to get a taster for the rest of the season. UCD need to adjust quickly and get points on the board and will do imo Sligo and Harps will get results regularly so there wont be someone saving the relegation spot for themselves all season this season. Derry will be flying if they keep getting goals scored for them ;p

Was no Luas to some grounds in Dublin which took away attendances down so you can’t expect much
Here on a technicality.
Its a good 40k in gate reciepts in 2 games for Pats, freshening things up by moving Buckley on has reaped reward off the pitch alone.
Whats the capacity in Inchicore ?
Same as Oriel but in a tighter ground, it would be a big squeeze.
Great to see we are still talking big crowds, hopefully a good indication for the season
That point about the panic button is so true.
Football is so all or nothing it is gas.
If UCD hold on its depression all round and sack the manager but you get the two goals and you are already thinking "beat rovers and we are flying"
In the same way i'm planning to beat you boys friday beat Harps on Monday and we are 7 points clear probably top of the league and the world is a great place.
Alternate view , we lose on Friday again on Monday and its depression all round............................but its 2 games
Its the hope that kills you
Sack the manager if we lost last night, what nonsense. Vinny will be given plenty of time
i did'nt mean in actual fact he would be sacked , i meant that there would be grumbling and moaning along those lines.
but 2 goals and the world is a different place.
This Fridays match is a case in point if we win we will be over the moon and optimistic, planning on going 7 points clear by beating Harps on monday.
if we lose its two losses on the spin and the world is about to end, and i'll probably feel like that myself even though i know its mad.
Even if we lose we will be 2 points behind you after 4 matches with 32 games to go but the outlook and view of the world is ruled by the imediate result....
What i love about this league is how much it matters , perspective is hard to hold onto.
I presume that you are speaking in some figurative sense or from a personal perspective, because I saw little signs of panic, either in the stands or on the pitch.
There was certainly a stunned silence when UCD scored the opener, but Dundalk came out for the second half to a very strong and positive reaction from the crowd. The team also showed composure and determination and created several chances before equalising 8 minutes into the half
Michael Duffy also commented in a post match interview on the lift they got from the crowd

It would have been hard if we came out and they were quiet but they were cheering and singing before we even equalised and once we scored, they were even louder. We need that every week.”Michael Duffy

Yawn, you never get tired of repeating yourself, I'm sure you find yourself amusing, I know you do amuse me.
Most commentators on the league would agree with me and maybe include pats or cork. Hence my attention on DFC.

Anyhoo, for what it's worth, Rovers look to have more about them than last season. A bit more spirit anyway.
League is there for the taking if Dundalk don't sort out who is the ultimate decision maker on footballing issues there..Gill seems to think it's him!
With a bounce of a ball DFC could be on 9 points now. Friday is only 3 points and loads of games to go but dfc will hit form and have the resources to strengthen in july if needed. We need to win to try to create a bit of a gap.......and I know I'm contradicting myself here saying that but dfc are a juggernaut and if it's going to go off course it needs to be tipped early.
I do agree with you though there is a chance and rovers do have more about them this year...will it be enough........probably not but I live in hope.
