Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

20 clubs awarded licences for the 2019 season
There was a surprise mentioned for the league launch next week, so maybe one will be randomly rescinded.Following a meeting of the Independent Club Licensing Committee of the Football Association of Ireland, 20 Licences were awarded for the 2019 SSE Airtricity League season.
The following clubs were awarded licences:
Bohemian FC, Bray Wanderers FC, Cork City FC, Derry City FC, Dundalk FC, Finn Harps FC, Limerick FC, Shamrock Rovers FC, Sligo Rovers FC, St Patricks Athletic FC, UCD AFC, Waterford FC, Athlone Town AFC, Cabinteely FC, Cobh Ramblers FC, Drogheda United FC, Galway United FC, Longford Town FC, Shelbourne FC, Wexford FC.

I've been reading constant claims that Limerick hadn't a hope of getting a license on various other sites and social media feeds, but it was always going to happen. The FAI would rather accept the risk of a club that breaks red lines and are in genuine danger of not finishing a season due to financial uncertainty, then have to actually find another club to fill the void, or deal with an odd-numbered league.
