Apologies, it wasn't meant to be overly dramatic - i was just shocked that when I linked to the page, I found that it was another of these on-line ticket touts

At least the ad is relevant?

I am a natural sceptic but some of the things Google do are very impressive.

    Google ads

I am sure they were there all the time but only recently noticed the foot related ads above. An obvious flaw in the google ads system

I've always though it funny when people call the site "foot". I wonder do they get it, or are they just shorthanding.

Ads At The Top Of The Site

just want to draw attention to this website that is in the ad banner at the top of the page

    http://www.needaticket.ie/index.php?...FUQA4wodxleMoQ

    and indeed this one

    http://passion-events.fr/dhtml/home....FeZr4wod2QNVrA

correct me if im wrong but are they not charging over the odds for tickets to the away leg?apologies if im wrong but if im not i find it bad form basically helping a web site rip off fellow football fans.

All of the ads currently being served come via Google, I don't have any preview of what they'll run and I certainly wouldn't run them if your accusations are correct. I need someone else to verify that they're being sold over cover price though, if I click on the ad I'll be accused of click-fraud. If someone I'm familiar with confirms it, I'll add them to the block list on Google.

Needaticket prices 105 to 140 Euro a ticket.

Passion events 109 euro but they give you a sandwitch & drink (that way it's a package deal)

Maybe someone who has a ticket could confirm face value.

I think the sale of these tickets on both sites are well over the odds. Needaticket will buy your ticket and presumably sell it on at an inflated price.

I'd go without before purchasing off either.

Both sites are now blocked, it may be an hour or two before they disappear. This is the current blocklist in full:

    iq-europeantest.com

We don't like them either, which is why they feature prominently in our rules.

MickNolan, those ads are what pays for the hosting of this site, and they're my livelihood.

How would you like it if I took away your livelihood?

Folks, if you want to run AdBlock and still support Foot.ie, right-click on the AdBlock icon at the bottom-right of your browser, then click "Disable on foot.ie". And of course if you see an ad that actually piques your interest, click on it! There's no need to go mad, but the odd click every now and then does support the site.

Alternatively, become a member, which also removes the ads.

There's an ad on top of the Current Affairs section of the forum at the moment which in my opinion ought to be added to the list of blocked google ads. The ad links to the following website: http://www.davidnorris4president.com/

Despite the name it's actually an anti-Norris website. Now if it was against Norris solely on political grounds that'd be fine, but they attack him based on his sexuality on this website, in a way which I find to be completely unacceptable. Here's an example of it:

    David Is A Homosexual
David was the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in Ireland when he was elected to the Seanad in 1989. He is a founder of the Campaign for Homosexual Law Reform and has actively promoted the gay lifestyle ever since then. One such example is his hosting of the “Gay Prom.”

However, the fact remains that there are many people who hold a conscientious objection to David’s lifestyle. Why?

    Homosexuality is

    1. Denounced in Scripture

See link to Campaign for Conscience.org
    2. Denounced in most major religions of the world

    (Christianity, Judaism, Islam etc.)
    3. Is a lifestyle which has particular heath risks (for example AIDS)

Last year, St. James Hospital reported a 100% increase in the number of HIV cases directly related to homosexual behaviour.
    4. Is a lifestyle which is often associated with sexual promiscuity

Research has shown that such a lifestyle is essentially promiscuous, characterized by brief encounters and short-term relationships.

    5. Is a lifestyle for which there is no genetic evidence

See “the Gay Gene Myth” at Campaign for Conscience.org

    http://www.davidnorris4president.com/how.html
Anyway if others feel this is fair game in politics then so be it but if I think it's an ad we can do without on foot.ie. It's not my call to make though obviously.

Was just reading about those morons on Maman Poulet's site. I hope Norris will do the sensible thing and just ignore it entirely. Site blocked, it'll take an hour or few to filter down. Thanks for the tip.
