Crusaders streaming their friendly against Motherwell tonight on Facebook. Viewer numbers hovering 550-600. On the one hand it's free but on the other its a meaningless friendly though you'll probably have a fair few of Motherwell fans watching but if this was that new streaming service that's roughly 2 grand. You'd want the streaming service to have numbers well above that to be a viable service for a league wide roll out, to cover infrastructure costs and such.

Ah great news! Now all those who where outraged at the €30 price tag for a ticket can watch it for free, like they were probably going to anyway

Good news also for DFC fans on holidays, most bars in the popular resorts will be able to get RTE for the game.

Dermot Keely will be beside himself with excitement in his spot !

Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

I'd say it's still not looking good for eir sports. Losing BT sport is a major blow for them.
That said, I of course appreciate them showing the matches.

they will probably do what they do in previous years just commentary and no punditry.

Waterford v Finn Harps on Eir Sports tonight. Last 3 games they have shown from the league have been 0 0 so they will be praying for goals tonight.

You'd think Derry and Sligo would have been the more attractive choice to televise or are Eir actually trying to cover the league properly rather than cherry picking...

Couple of times it's happened this year too with Derry. The only logical reason behind it seems to be that they don't want the cost of sending crew and and equipment up there. They showed our game with Sligo a few weeks ago, when the logical choice would have been Derry and Finn Harps.

Eir are showing a lot of LoI and European fixtures recently. While that's to be appreciated from an LoI point of view, is that also a sign of them trying to remain relevant after they're losing BT Sport?
