I count a ground as 'hopped' as soon as I have seen it in detail - have seen over 1300 so imagine what it would have cost me if I would have been to games everywhere Also, if you want to see games you can't visit more than 1 or 2 a day, while I try to do 5-10 a day during groundhopping trips.

If interested in stadiums in a fanatic way, feel free to email or PM me and maybe we can bring together a small group for a roadtrip alongst Irish football grounds ?

    Cool

Sure Gerrit, i will since im not living too far away! Anyways im not too sure wether or not you're familar with the "Groundhopper Rules". A ground only counts once you have seen 45 minutes of an actual match there wether you like or not! If you dont, stop calling yourself groundhopper! Anyone could go and see empty grounds while passing by but thats not what its all about

Went to the cup game between Limavady United and the PSNI (police)'s team. 5-0 to Limavady by the way, although the policemen missed an early penalty.

But I am shocked by the "stadium" of Limavady. For a second I thought I was back in Belgium, attending a 7th division game One single stand with not even 500 seats, and apart from that absolutely nothing. Not even a very low terrace, not even a small roof, not even some little asfalt step around the pitch. One rather small stand, a cantine, and that's it.

How does Limavady manage to get a game organised when the visiting club has a decent away support? I can imagine Linfield, Cliftonville and Glentoran cannot even get all their travelling fans in that stand... Incredible that this is allowed in the top flight. It's smaller than Belfield FFS !

Gerrit ..... while you are ground hopping up there, are you taking any pics ??
Might be an idea, i'm sure the clubs you are visiting would be grateful aswell. Just any idea, seeing as you are already making the trips.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

When the Glens come to Limavady, we'll share the, erm, 'main' stand with the locals, otherwise it's two deep around the entire pitch (behind a small concrete wall), exposed to the winds coming in off the Sperrin Mountains.

Otherwise, one of the well-appointed two social clubs, suffice - even though the f**kers put their prices up when we come to town
The only Irish club to win a European trophy.

@ A Face: yes, I take pics However, technical problems with the digital camera force me to use one-term use cameras since a few weeks. I hope to have them developped the coming weeks, the guys from the photo shop told they can put a duplicate on a cd-writable, so that I won't have to scan them all.
