No his mother isn't Irish.

Above from 2018, Irish connections in Dublin via his mother, vague enough.
Stephen Kenny said last week he wasn't eligible, (along with Callum O'Hare and Jack O'Connell). Are you saying he's wrong, or that he was eligible when McCarthy was manager, and isn't now (presumably because he's declared for Jamaica)?
I’m fairly sure that Nathan’s mother is self described as Irish and she confirmed his eligibility and that she’d like him play for ireland but was happy for him to do whatever made him happy. This was all on Twitter years and years ago and someone dug up old tweets. Maybe it’s a Ryan Johansson case where she was born in the uk and brought up here before moving back, or something like that...
That article states
"Redmond's Irish connections are in Dublin through his mother Michelle Redmond, who raised her three children alone."
In other articles it's stated that the mother is irish born. But yep, those reports of Redmond's mother being Irish born are most probably just assumed and inaccurate.
Kenny could have been referring to Redmond being deep down in the process of declaring for Jamaica, therefore not eligible.
Did Kenny mention the exact reason why Redmond was illegible?
I don't know what Mick knew, the article linked in this thread just simply states Redmond's agent was contacted and it was a no go.
I didn't listen to the interview, I put alleged in brackets, did Kenny state why Redmond wasn't eligible?
No big deal as obviously Redmond wasn't interested in Ireland at a time when he thought he was eligible, and no big deal what Mick didn't know when Redmond's agent was contacted.
I've seen enough.
The FAI don't have any money so we're stuck with this joker for the full length of his contract.
And with the money situation in mind, who would they get anyway?
I think he might walk away. Especially if he loses to Qatar and Portugal, which is more likely than not.
You can't spell failure without FAI
No, I don't buy that. Duffy's form has collapsed. McClean, Hendrick and Brady haven't shown too much when they've been called on either. We need to bring new players through. Everyone here was delighted when they saw the team in Serbia precisely because those three were dropped. So I think we need some balance one way or another there really.
Pathetic. The worst result Irish football history. I'm disgusted.
Kenny needs to go.
I think that’s the least valid criticism of all. Arguably he played it safe by using them from the bench. In both games he brought on those experienced players and for the most part in both games we got worse. There’s a lot to criticise Kenny for but those players proved they didn’t deserve to be starting when they came on.
This is shocking stuff. Still a long way to go? Is this guy trying to wind us up?

It's now plain for all to see that Kenny needs to go, but who should be his successor given the bankrupt FAI's limited funds?
There's no easy solution to all of this
I hear Chris Coleman's name being mentioned as an eventual replacement.
Wouldn't be the worst appointment. At least he's played and managed at the highest level.
