I wouldn't ever learn a language unless I felt i was going to use it. Ability to speak Irish very often used as a trophy skill IMO.

Go to classes, if you ring the below numebr they should be able to tell you where classes are in your area.. I regulary go to classes to keep brushing up on my Irish and it is all foreginers there.. Its embarrassing to see so many Irish people don't and won't bother learning it and these visiters to our country going to so much to learn it
