Mike Aherne on twitter
https://twitter.com/AherneMike95/sta...72681297731587As I understand it this evening's news of the newly appointed / freshly resigned GM is being welcomed by a local consortium who will again endeavour to engage with the current owner with a view to investing in the club. My advice to Pat would be to bite their hand off
Is O Sullivan looking to be paid to walk away?

There's a lot of rumours going around, one of which is that POS wants to retain control of the club while new investors pay off debts, which if true is not something I think any investors would entertain. He certainly seems to want a far amount of money for his trouble, which fits with a man whose every public utterance seems to be about how much he has put into the club (or, to put it another way, how much money he has misspent).
The whole thing with this Briefne guy also seems strange. Mike Aherne was insinuating the American group he was talking about wasn't serious, others disagree. It's all so messy, and a month away from the start of the season, with a squad of 13 signed I believe.

I've seen plenty of commenters suggest Limerick won't get a license as things stand, but I'm sure numerous clubs wouldn't get one if the regs were actually enforced. There's always room for exceptions from on high.

He has spent (and truly wasted) millions.
One one level, it's understandable that he wants to sell the club and get something back for himself, rather than just sign it over to somebody else, but the reality is that it's worth sweet f**k all and has plenty of debt too.
If he can't sell it, then he wants to stick around in some capacity, and that's not going to happen. Certainly not in any meaningful capacity anyway, and tbh, he is not somebody that would stay quietly in the background in any capacity.
According to today's Star, Sean Connor is leading a Swiss Consortium who are interested in taking over at Limerick. God help ye if that comes to pass
Wasn't the Bray chairman (or former Bray chairman now) working with Limerick on investors for a while there recently?
